َقَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ 1320 الواقعة

َ لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا تَأْثِيمًا ﴿۲۵﴾ إِلَّا قِيلًا سَلَامًا سَلَامًا ﴿۲۶﴾ وَأَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ ﴿۲۷﴾ فِي سِدْرٍ مَخْضُودٍ ﴿۲۸﴾ وَطَلْحٍ مَنْضُودٍ ﴿۲۹﴾ وَظِلٍّ مَمْدُودٍ ﴿۳۰﴾ وَمَاءٍ مَسْكُوبٍ ﴿۳۱﴾ وَفَاكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ ﴿۳۲﴾ لَا مَقْطُوعَةٍ وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٍ ﴿۳۳﴾ وَفُرُشٍ مَرْفُوعَةٍ ﴿۳۴﴾ إِنَّا أَنْشَأْنَاهُنَّ إِنْشَاءً ﴿۳۵﴾

﴾25﴿ Laa yasma'oona feehaa laghwanw wa laa taaseemaa
﴾26﴿ Illaa qeelan salaaman salaamaa
﴾27﴿ Wa as haabul yameeni maaa as haabul Yameen
﴾28﴿ Fee sidrim makhdood
﴾29﴿ Wa talhim mandood
﴾30﴿ Wa zillim mamdood
﴾31﴿ Wa maaa'im maskoob
﴾32﴿ Wa faakihatin kaseerah
﴾33﴿ Laa maqtoo'atinw wa laa mamnoo'ah
﴾34﴿ Wa furushim marfoo'ah
﴾35﴿ Innaaa anshaanaahunna inshaaa'aa

﴾25﴿ They will not hear therein any vain talk or sinful speech
﴾26﴿ Except the saying: salaam salaam (Peace, peace)
﴾27﴿ And the people of the right—how great is their status among the people of the right
﴾28﴿ They will be among thornless lote trees
﴾29﴿ And among layered banana trees
﴾30﴿ And in extended shade
﴾31﴿ And in flowing water
﴾32﴿ And in abundant fruit
﴾33﴿ That will neither end nor be forbidden
﴾34﴿ And they will be on elevated couches and high places
﴾35﴿ Indeed, We will create the women in a new creation

[25,26] (لَغْوًا) – Laghw refers to speech that has no benefit, whether it involves sin or not.
(تَأْثِيمًا) – refers to speech through which a person becomes sinful, such as lying, slander, backbiting, etc. It can also mean attributing sin to others, such as accusing them of immorality or wickedness.
(سَلَامًا سَلَامًا) – the repetition signifies abundance and frequency. It refers to words that are free from faults, shortcomings, and sin. Or it may mean greetings of peace from Allah, the angels, and from one another.
[27] This refers to the second category of believers—meaning the general believers. Eight glad tidings are mentioned for them.
[28,29,30,31] (مَخْضُودٍ) – a tree without thorns, or one that bears abundant fruit.
(طَلْحٍ) – plural of Ṭalḥah, referring to the banana tree.
(مَنْضُودٍ) – its fruits are so closely layered, from top to bottom, that the trunk is completely hidden.
(مَمْدُودٍ) – as mentioned in an authentic hadith (which Ibn Kathir referred to as mutawātir), a rider could travel in its shade for a hundred years and still not reach its end.
(مَسْكُوبٍ) – meaning the water flows continuously through their homes and gardens, running on the surface of the ground. It never dries up, and there is no need for a bucket or rope to draw it.
[32,33] (لَا مَقْطُوعَةٍ) – meaning they are never cut off in any season—summer, winter, or otherwise—they are always present.
(وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٍ) – meaning there is nothing that prevents access to them; there are no thorns, they are not distant, and one can take them whenever they desire.
[34] What is meant by it is farāsh (cushions or carpets).
(مَرْفُوعَةٍ) – their place is elevated, even though they lower when one sits on them, or it means their value and status are lofty.
[35,36,37] (إِنْشَاءً) – the meaning of a new creation is that worldly traits and behaviors (considered undesirable) will be removed from them.
(فَجَعَلْنَاهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا) – this attribute, virginity, is the most virtuous quality in women, so it is mentioned specifically. It means that even if a woman had become old in the world, in Paradise she will be a youthful virgin.
In a hadith from Tirmidhī, the Prophet (May Allah bless him and give him peace) jokingly said that old women will not enter Paradise. An elderly woman who heard this began to cry, then the Prophet (May Allah bless him and give him peace) said: Has she not heard this verse? (This type of joking with truthfulness and pleasantness is among the noble character traits of the Prophet, peace be upon him.)
(عُرُبًا) – derived from aʿraba, meaning to express clearly. These women openly express their love for their husbands—through affectionate words, flirtation, and beautifying themselves. The commentators have mentioned all these meanings.
(أَتْرَابًا) – Aṭrāb is used for women, and aqrān for men. It means these women will all be of the same age as each other and also of the same age as their husbands. According to a hadith, they will be 33 years old, and they will remain that way forever.
