[174,175] After the glad tidings, this is a consolation.
[176,177] When the punishment was mentioned, the deniers began to mock, demanding that the punishment come quickly — this is a warning and threat to them.
(بِسَاحَتِهِمْ) – Sāhah originally refers to the courtyard of a house; here, it means that the punishment will come upon them suddenly, in such a way that they will find no escape from it.
(صَبَاحُ) – Most of Allah the Exalted's punishments have come in the morning, a blessed time when the deniers are heedless.
[178,179] This too is a consolation, but in the first instance, the intended meaning of ḥīn was the punishment of this world, while here the punishment of the Hereafter is meant — therefore, it is not repetition.
[180,181,182] This is a conclusion connected to the entire surah and a declaration of Tawḥīd (Divine Oneness). It means: when the weakness and dependence of the angels, prophets (peace be upon them), and jinn have been established, it becomes clear that they can neither be partners with Allah the Exalted nor can they serve as compulsory intercessors. This is the meaning intended by tasbīḥ (glorification).
(وَسَلَامٌ عَلَى الْمُرْسَلِينَ) – This is the surah’s proclamation: the perfection of the prophets (peace be upon them) lies in the fact that Allah the Exalted grants them safety from punishment in both this world and the Hereafter.
(وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ) – This too is a declaration of Divine Oneness. It implies that the destruction of disbelievers and the support granted to the prophets — as mentioned in this surah — are all reasons to praise Allah the Exalted. These are blessings from Him.
