وَمَا لِيَ 1088 الصافات
ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرْجِعَهُمْ لَإِلَى الْجَحِيمِ ﴿۶۸﴾ إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْا آبَاءَهُمْ ضَالِّينَ ﴿۶۹﴾ فَهُمْ عَلَى آثَارِهِمْ يُهْرَعُونَ ﴿۷۰﴾ وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿۷۱﴾ وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِمْ مُنْذِرِينَ ﴿۷۲﴾ فَانْظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ ﴿۷۳﴾ إِلَّا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ الْمُخْلَصِينَ ﴿۷۴﴾ وَلَقَدْ نَادَانَا نُوحٌ فَلَنِعْمَ الْمُجِيبُونَ ﴿۷۵﴾ وَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ مِنَ الْكَرْبِ الْعَظِيمِ ﴿۷۶﴾
﴾68﴿ Summa inna marji'ahum la ilal Jaheem
﴾69﴿ Innahum alfaw aabaaa'ahum daaalleen
﴾70﴿ Fahum 'alaa aasaarihim yuhra'oon
﴾71﴿ Wa laqad dalla qablahum aksarul awwaleen
﴾72﴿ Wa laqad arsalnaa feehim munzireen
﴾73﴿ Fanzur kaifa kaana 'aaqibatul munzareen
﴾74﴿ Illaa 'ibaadal laahil mukhlaseen
﴾75﴿ Wa laqad naadaanaa Noohun falani'mal mujeeboon
﴾76﴿ Wa najjainaahu wa ahlahoo minal karbil 'azeem
﴾68﴿ So surely their return is certainly to the fire of Hell
﴾69﴿ Surely they had found their fathers to be misguided
﴾70﴿ So they hurried upon their footsteps
﴾71﴿ And indeed, most of the former people before them had gone astray
﴾72﴿ And indeed, We sent warners among them
﴾73﴿ So see how was the end of those who were warned
﴾74﴿ Except for the servants of Allah, the Most High, who were saved
﴾75﴿ And indeed, Noah (peace be upon him) called upon Us, and We are the best to respond
﴾76﴿ And We saved him and his family from the great distress
[69,70] In these verses, the reason for the previous punishment is mentioned: it is the blind imitation of the misguided, without deep reflection, contemplation, or evidence.
[from 71 to 74] This is a worldly warning for the deniers through the punishments of previous nations, and a consolation to the Messenger of Allah (May Allah bless him and give him peace) regarding the coming punishment upon the opponents and the salvation of the monotheists.
[75] From this verse up to (149), it is the second section, in which the conditions of seven prophets are mentioned—who were in need of Allah the Exalted and were His servants. The word nā (the first-person plural pronoun, referring to Allah the Exalted) is used in their stories to indicate that they were in those situations in need of Allah the Exalted.
Those prophets (peace be upon them) were: Nūḥ, Ibrāhīm, Mūsā and Hārūn, Lūṭ, and Yūnus (peace be upon them).
Its connection to al-mukhlisīn (the sincere ones) is that they were the prophets and their followers.
(Nādānā) – what is meant here is the supplications of Nūḥ (peace be upon him), which are detailed in Sūrah Nūḥ.
[76] This is one way of the acceptance of supplication: being saved from drowning, meaning that in this blessing, they were in need of Allah the Exalted.
(Al-karb al-‘aẓīm) – refers to the drowning of the entire nation, both great and small, which is a great distress. Or, it may refer to the punishment of the Day of Judgment.
