﴾26﴿ Awalam yahdi lahum kam ahlaknaa min qablihim minal qurooni yamshoona fee masaakinihim; inna fee zaalika la aayaatin afalaa yasma'oon
﴾27﴿ Awalam yaraw annaa nasooqul maaa'a ilal ardil juruzi fanukhriju bihee zar'an ta'kulu minhu an'aamuhum wa anfusuhum afalaa yubsiroon
﴾28﴿ Wa yaqooloona mataa haazal fath hu in kuntum saadiqeen
﴾29﴿ Qul yawmal fath hi laa yanfa'ul lazeena kafarooo eemaanuhum wa laa hum yunzaroon
﴾30﴿ Fa a'rid 'anhum wantazir innahum muntaziroon

﴾26﴿ Has it not been made clear to them how many generations We destroyed before them, who used to walk in their dwellings, Indeed, in this are many signs. Do they not then listen
﴾27﴿ Do they not see that We send water (rain) to the barren land, and with it, We bring forth crops from which their livestock and they themselves eat, Do they not then see
﴾28﴿ And they say, When will this judgment take place, if you are truthful
﴾29﴿ Say, On the Day of Judgment, the faith of the disbelievers will not benefit them, nor will they be given any respite
﴾30﴿ So turn away from them and wait; indeed, they too are waiting

[26] This is a rebuke to the second group — the deniers — who take no lesson from the worldly punishments of former deniers.
"Will they not listen?" — Since the events of past deniers are known through hearing, the rebuke is expressed in terms of their failure to listen.
[27] This is another rebuke — that these deniers do not take heed from rational signs either.
And since these signs (proofs) are connected to seeing, the verse ends with "Will they not see?" (afalā yubṣirūn) for that reason.
[28] This too is a rebuke regarding the denial of the Resurrection, and it relates to verse 25, in which the Judgment of the Resurrection was mentioned.
They were the ones who initiated the denial.
[29] This is the response — their intent is that even if, hypothetically, the Day of Judgment were to come, they would then believe.
The answer given is that on that Day, faith will not be accepted, because such belief would be compelled and not by free will.
[30] This is an addition to the previous rebukes and a consolation for the Prophet (May Allah bless him and give him peace).
What is meant by turning away from them is to disregard them and to disassociate from them.
