وَقَالَ الَّذِينَْ 883 الشعراء

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ يُكَذِّبُونِ ﴿۱۲﴾ وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِي وَلَا يَنْطَلِقُ لِسَانِي فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَى هَارُونَ ﴿۱۳﴾ وَلَهُمْ عَلَيَّ ذَنْبٌ فَأَخَافُ أَنْ يَقْتُلُونِ ﴿۱۴﴾ قَالَ كَلَّا فَاذْهَبَا بِآيَاتِنَا إِنَّا مَعَكُمْ مُسْتَمِعُونَ ﴿۱۵﴾ فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَا إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ﴿۱۶﴾ أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ﴿۱۷﴾

﴾12﴿ Qaala Rabbi inneee akhaafu ai yukazziboon
﴾13﴿ Wa yadeequ sadree wa laa yantaliqu lisaanee fa arsil ilaa Haaroon
﴾14﴿ Wa lahum 'alaiya zambun fa akhaafu ai yaqtuloon
﴾15﴿ Qaala kallaa fazhabaa bi Aayaatinaaa innaa ma'akum mustami'oon
﴾16﴿ Faatiyaa Fir'awna faqoolaaa innaa Rasoolu Rabbil 'aalameen
﴾17﴿ An arsil ma'anaa Baneee Israaa'eel

﴾12﴿ Moses (peace be upon him) said, O my Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me
﴾13﴿ And my chest will become tight, and my tongue will not flow (smoothly); so send (revelation) to Aaron (peace be upon him)
﴾14﴿ And they have a charge against me, so I fear that they will kill me
﴾15﴿ Allah the Exalted said, Never can they (harm you). So go, both of you, with Our signs. Indeed, We are with you, listening
﴾16﴿ So go, both of you, to Pharaoh and say, Indeed, we are the messengers of the Lord of all the worlds
﴾17﴿ Send with us the Children of Israel

[12] In this, the first fear of Musa (peace be upon him) is mentioned, and his fear was due to the arrogance of the Pharaoh's people.
Musa (peace be upon him) already had prior experience with them, which is why he feared them.
[13] In this verse, two states are mentioned in order: this is a case of connecting the cause to its effect.
That is, denial (by the people) causes the heart to become constricted, and a constricted heart results in difficulty in speech—just as when a person is overcome by sorrow or anger, they may become unable to speak properly.
Both of these reasons led Musa (peace be upon him) to pray for the companionship of Hārūn (peace be upon him).
[14] In this verse, the second fear is mentioned.
The phrase "وَلَهُمْ" indicates that at this time, Musa (peace be upon him) was only considered a criminal by Pharaoh’s people—not a criminal in the sight of Allah, because the killing (he had done) was not a sin.
This makes it clear that having fear due to worldly causes is not beneath the status of prophets.
[15,16] This is a consolation by removing the second fear and giving reassurance to both of them.
The fear of Musa (peace be upon him) was essentially the fear of both, because their mission and purpose were the same.
The mention of these signs (miracles) is found in Surah Al-A‘rāf and Surah Tā-Hā.
[16] In this verse, the two main objectives of the mission (risālah) are mentioned:
The first objective is the mission from the Lord of all worlds, meaning the call to the oneness of Allah's Lordship.
The second objective is to free the oppressed monotheistic people from the oppressors, so they may establish the religion of monotheism.
Both of these aims serve to elevate the word of Allah and are considered a form of jihad.
In Surah Tā-Hā (verse 47), the mission is explained in detail, and the messengership of both Musa and Hārūn (peace be upon them) is mentioned as independent, which is why the dual form "رسولا" was used.
But here, the purpose is brevity, so the singular "رسول" is used, meaning the category or kind (i.e., messenger in general), or it is understood in expression that each of us is a messenger (i.e., كل واحد منا رسول).
