قَدْ أَفْلَحَْ 863 الفرقان
الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ شَرِيكٌ فِي الْمُلْكِ وَخَلَقَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ فَقَدَّرَهُ تَقْدِيرًا ﴿۲﴾ وَاتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِهِ آلِهَةً لَا يَخْلُقُونَ شَيْئًا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ وَلَا يَمْلِكُونَ لِأَنْفُسِهِمْ ضَرًّا وَلَا نَفْعًا وَلَا يَمْلِكُونَ مَوْتًا وَلَا حَيَاةً وَلَا نُشُورًا ﴿۳﴾
﴾2﴿ Allazee lahoo mulkus samaawaati wal ardi wa lam yattakhiz waladanw wa lam yakul lahoo shareekun filmulki wa khalaqa kulla shai'in faqaddarahoo taqdeeraa
﴾3﴿ Wattakhazoo min dooniheee aalihatal laa yakhluqoona shai'anw wa hum yukhlaqoona wa laa yamlikoona li anfusihim darranw wa laa naf'anw wa laa yamlikoona mawtanw wa laa hayaatanw wa laa nushooraa
﴾2﴿ The One to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, who has not taken a son, and for whom there is no partner in His sovereignty. He created everything and then determined its measure with precise determination
﴾3﴿ And they have taken besides Allah deities who are believed to bestow blessings, yet they create nothing and are themselves created. They do not possess the power to bring harm or benefit to themselves, nor do they have control over death, life, or resurrection
[2] In this verse, five proofs are given through the attributes of Allah the Exalted, which include three affirmative attributes and two negative attributes:
1. Allah is the Sovereign over all things—everything in existence is under His dominion. All creation is His subjects and owned by Him, so they do not have the power to distribute blessings.
Then a possible question might arise: “What if Allah has given someone else the power to grant blessings? Or what if He has made someone a partner in distributing them?”
The answer is given:
(وَلَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ شَرِيكٌ فِي الْمُلْكِ) – He has neither taken a son nor has He any partner in the kingdom.
Also, it is stated that Allah has created everything, so all goodness and blessings are His creation.
Another possible question: “Yes, Allah is the Creator, but maybe someone else has the power to increase or decrease these blessings?”
The response is given with:
(فَقَدَّرَهُ تَقْدِيرًا) – He has determined it with precise measurement.
Meaning: Allah alone sets the measure of everything, and no one can alter it.
Thus, it becomes clear that the sole possessor and distributor of blessings is Allah alone.
This verse also serves as evidence that Allah has decreed everything—whether good or bad—and that believing in divine decree (Qadar) is a pillar of faith.
[3] In this verse, there is a rebuke to the polytheists for their shirk in blessings (shirk fī al-barakāt).
(آلِهَةً) – refers to those false deities besides Allah to whom people attribute the power to give blessings and thus worship them.
In this verse, six attributes are negated from them, and only one is affirmed—that they are created beings.
Meaning: they are not creators and not owners, so how can they possibly give blessings to anyone?
(ضَرًّا) – they do not have the power to prevent any harm, whether it be financial loss or physical illness.
(مَوْتًا وَلَا حَيَاةً وَلَا نُشُورًا) – covers death, life, and resurrection, applying both to themselves and others. They cannot cause anyone to die, bring anyone to life, or resurrect anyone.
