﴾108﴿ Qul yaaa ayyuhan naasu qad jaaa'akumul haqqu mir Rabbikum; famanih tadaa fa innamaa yahtadee li nafsih; wa man dalla fa innamaa yadillu 'alaihaa; wa maaa ana 'alaikum bi wakeel
﴾109﴿ Wattabi' maa yoohaaa ilaika wasbir hattaa yahkumal laah; wa Huwa khairul haakimeen
﴾108﴿ O people, indeed the truth has come to you from your Lord. So whoever is guided is only guided for their own benefit, and whoever goes astray, the harm of their straying is only upon themselves. And I am not a guardian over you
﴾109﴿ And follow what has been revealed to you, and be patient until Allah gives His judgment, for He is the best of judges
[108] In this verse, there is encouragement toward the Noble Qur'an as a means to remove doubt.
The meaning of “al-ḥaqq” here is either the Qur'an itself, or the detailed explanation of tawḥīd—both of which are fully established truths conveyed through the Qur'an.
In relation to this truth, two groups of people are mentioned in the verse:
1. Those who believe in it and benefit from its guidance.
2. Those who reject it due to stubbornness and are deprived of its benefit.
[109] This verse is a consolation and encouragement to the Prophet to follow the revelation and remain patient in fulfilling the obligations until the decision of Allah, the Exalted, comes to pass.
The meaning of “the decision of Allah” (faṣl Allāh) is either:
1. The punishment for the deniers,
2. Or the granting of faith (tawfīq) to those whom He wills.
