وَلَوْ أَنَّنَا 330 الأعراف

وَنَادَى أَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِ أَصْحَابَ النَّارِ أَنْ قَدْ وَجَدْنَا مَا وَعَدَنَا رَبُّنَا حَقًّا فَهَلْ وَجَدْتُمْ مَا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّا قَالُوا نَعَمْ فَأَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنٌ بَيْنَهُمْ أَنْ لَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ عَلَى الظَّالِمِينَ ﴿۴۴﴾ الَّذِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَهُمْ بِالْآخِرَةِ كَافِرُونَ ﴿۴۵﴾ وَبَيْنَهُمَا حِجَابٌ وَعَلَى الْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالٌ يَعْرِفُونَ كُلًّا بِسِيمَاهُمْ وَنَادَوْا أَصْحَابَ الْجَنَّةِ أَنْ سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكُمْ لَمْ يَدْخُلُوهَا وَهُمْ يَطْمَعُونَ ﴿۴۶﴾

﴾44﴿ Wa naadaa Ashaabul jannati ashaaban Naari an qad wajadnaa maa wa'adannaa Rabbunaa haqqan fahal wajattum maa wa'ada Rabbukum haqqan qaaloo na'am; fa azzana mu'azzinum bainahum al la'natul laahi 'alaz zaalimeen
﴾45﴿ Allazeena yasuddoona 'an sabeelil laahi wa yabghoo nahaa 'iwajanw wa hum bil Aakhirati kaafiroon
﴾46﴿ Wa bainahumaa hijaab; wa 'alal A'raafi rijaaluny ya'rifoona kullam biseemaahum; wa naadaw Ashaabal jannati an salaamun 'alaikum; lam yadkhuloohaa wa hum yatma'oon

﴾44﴿ And let them call the people of Paradise the people of Hell, as we have found that what our Lord promised us (Paradise) is true So, did you also find what your Lord promised (fire) to be true, The people of hell say yes, so let a announcer among them announce that the curse of Allah Almighty is on the oppressors
﴾45﴿ Those who used to stop people from the path of Allah, the Most High, and want to mislead them, and they deny the Hereafter
﴾46﴿ And there are two veils between them, and in the height of this veil there are people who know each of them by their signs And let them call out to the people of Jannah, peace be upon you, they have not entered (these people of Araf), but they hope for Jannah

[44] Because of these cries and calls, one of the names of this Day is Yawm at-Tanād (the Day of Calling), as mentioned in verse 32 of Surah Al-Mu’min, and it is also called Yawm al-Adhān (the Day of Proclamation).
"(مَا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّا)" — The meaning is that from verse 37 to verse 41, warnings were mentioned, and the disbelievers acknowledged them.
The ending of that warning was directed at the wrongdoers (ẓālimīn), so along with the curse, the wrongdoers were also mentioned.
[45] This is the explanation of that injustice because of which they became deserving of these punishments. "(عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ)" — refers generally to Tawheed, faith, the Qur’an, and the Sunnah. Preventing others from this is a major injustice. "(عِوَجًا)" means crookedness. That is, they desire a crooked path — or “they seek it” means “they act within it” with crookedness, meaning they wish to bring distortion into this straight path by casting doubts and criticisms. "عوج" when pronounced with a sukoon on the letter ‘ayn is used in the context of religion and abstract matters, and when pronounced with a fatḥah (zabar) on the ‘ayn, it is used for physical objects.
[46] This barrier is also called a "partition wall" (diwāl), as mentioned in verse 13 of Surah Hadid, and the upper part of it is called "A‘rāf." From here, two calls from the people of A‘rāf are mentioned. The first call is to the people of Paradise.
Regarding the inhabitants of A‘rāf, there are ten opinions among the commentators. The most accepted view, which Ibn Kathir has narrated as a marfū‘ (elevated) hadith, is that they are those believers whose good and bad deeds are equal. Thus, they will be withheld from Paradise for a while and kept away from Hell, as mentioned in the verse: "they have not yet entered it." After some time, they will enter Paradise, as mentioned in verse 49.
"(بِسِيمَاهُمْ)" — refers to the signs of the people of Paradise: white faces, hands, and feet. The signs of the people of Hell are blackened faces and yellow eyes.
"(أَنْ سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكُمْ)" — This is either in the form of a greeting of peace, or it is a declarative sentence meaning: you are safe from calamities and the fire of Hell.
"(وَهُمْ يَطْمَعُونَ)" — Their hope lies in the fact that they have not been grouped with the people of Hell, so they now have hope for entering Paradise.
