﴾137﴿ Qad khalat min qablikum sunanum faseeroo fil ardi fanzuroo kaifa kaana 'aaqiba tul mukazzibeen
﴾138﴿ Haazaa bayaanul linnaasi wa hudanw wa maw'izatul lilmuttaqeen
﴾139﴿ Wa laa tahinoo wa laa tahzanoo wa antumul a'lawna in kuntum mu'mineenp
﴾140﴿ Iny-yamsaskum qarhum faqad massal qawma qarhum misluh; wa tilkal ayyaamu nudaawiluhaa bainan naasi wa liya'lamal laahul lazeena aamanoo wa yattakhiza minkum shuhadaaa'; wallaahu laa yuh ibbuz zaalimee

﴾137﴿ Surely Events have passed before you, so look back on the earth and see (as an example) how the end of the deniers happened
﴾138﴿ This (Qur'an) is an explanation for the people and a savior (with reasons) and an advice for the benefit of the pious
﴾139﴿ And don't slack off (in Jihad) and don't be impatient (in tasks) and you are the best (owners of them) if you are perfect believers
﴾140﴿ If a wound has reached you (so be patient), then it has reached the people of the disbelievers like it, and these days We will turn it among the people (for wisdom) And so that Allah, the Exalted, will find out those who believed and make martyrs out of you, and Allah, the Exalted, does not like wrongdoers

[137] This fear is for worldly punishment and the condition of the disbelievers is after the condition of the pious, (سُنَنٌ) (sunanum) The plural of sunnah means whether it is good or bad. Here, it means the traditions of the nations or the events of the punishment of the disbelievers
[138] This persuasion is for the Holy Qur'an, That is, if you can't travel in the earth to get advice - Then take advice from the Qur'an - And there are three characteristics of it, the first is the expression and explanation of Allah's decrees, if they are commands or prohibitions, (وَهُدًى) (wa hudan) The reference is for the reasons of the rulings, (وَمَوْعِظَةٌ) (wa maw'izatun) What is meant by these persuasions is threats, good news, etc -
[139] After mentioning the truthfulness of the Quran, he encourages to publish it, (وَلَا تَهِنُوا) (Wa laa tahinoo) Wahan is laxity due to the fear of death and love of the world, (وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا) (wa laa tahzanoo) Grief is regretting the property, children, and companions of the deceased, and grief is optional, but what is meant by grief is to express grief in a way that the target is to die, (وَأَنْتُمُ الْأَعْلَوْنَ) (wa antumul a'lawna) This is common: sometimes vectory in the world, sometimes overcoming proof and reason, and sometimes being high in the sight of Allah, the Most High, (إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ) (in kuntum mu'mineen) This condition belongs to the previous from Wlatahnu to Al-Aloon - in this verse, two morals were mentioned as prohibited -
[140] From this verse to verse (143) he mentions the reasons for the failure of Uhud to console the believers and to answer the objection of the hypocrites, The objection was that if the Companions were right, then why did they fail in Uhud? Six reasons have been mentioned in this verse, فَقَدْ مَسَّ الْقَوْمَ قَرْحٌ مِثْلُهُ) (faqad massal qawma qarhum misluh) The target is the polytheists of Makkah, who were wounded in Badr, (مِثْلُهُ) (misluh) Here, the sameness refers only to killing and wounding, and in verse (165) it is said that the sameness is based on the validity of the number, (وَتِلْكَ الْأَيَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا) (massal qawma qarhum misluh) It means that sometimes it is a day of duty and sadness, then sometimes it is a day of happiness, then sometimes it is a day of victory, and sometimes it is a day of failure, (وَلِيَعْلَمَ اللَّهُ) (wa liya'lamal laahu) Before this, (معطوف علیه) (directed against) is hidden (for many wisdoms), What is meant by science is the science of expression and clarity - (شُهَدَاءَ) (shuhadaaa) It is meant to make martyrs -
