﴾66﴿ Haaa antum haaa'ulaaa'i haajajtum feemaa lakum bihee 'ilmun falima tuhaaajjoonaa feemaa laisa lakum bihee 'ilm; wallaahu ya'lamu wa antum laa ta'lamoon
﴾67﴿ Maa kaana Ibraaheemu Yahoodiyyanw wa laa Nasraa niyyanw wa laakin kaana Haneefam Muslimanw wa maa kaana minal mushrikeen
﴾68﴿ Innaa awlan naasi bi Ibraaheema lallazeenat taba 'oohu wa haazan nabiyyu wallazeena aamanoo; wallaahu waliyyul mu'mineen
﴾69﴿ Waddat taaa'ifatum min Ahlil Kitaabi law yudil loonakum wa maa yudilloona illaaa anfusahum wa maa yash'uroon
﴾70﴿ Yaaa Ahlal Kitaabi lima takfuroona bi Aayaatil laahi wa antum tash hadoon
﴾71﴿ Yaaa Ahalal Kitaabi lima talbisoonal haqqa bilbaatili wa taktumoonal haqqa wa antum ta'lamoon

﴾66﴿ O people, you dispute about what you have knowledge about, so why do you dispute about what you do not have knowledge about, and Allah Almighty knows, and you do not know
﴾67﴿ Abraham, peace be upon him, was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was a firm believer and he was not one of the polytheists
﴾68﴿ Indeed Of course, the most deserving people to attribute to Abraham, peace be upon him, are those people who followed him, this prophet, and the believers, and Allah is the friend of the believers
﴾69﴿ They want a group of People of the Book who mislead you and they do not mislead except themselves and they do not know
﴾70﴿ O People of the Book, why do you disbelieve in the verses of Allah, the Exalted, and you know
﴾71﴿ O people of the book, why do you mix truth with falsehood for people and (why) do you cover the truth and you know

[66] This is the punishment - and the second is the rejection, that your statement about Abraham, peace be upon him, is completely baseless, (عِلْمٌ) (knowledge) indeterminate noun is in the proof, that is, it some of knowledge, and in the negation need the general -
[67] In this is the clear third rejection on them, and it is clear from the reference that Jews and Christians were polytheists because of the fact that both groups of polytheism existed in them.
[68] In this fourth rebuttal, it is pointed out that attributing to the Prophet, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, is due to following him, not due to lineage, (وَلِيُّ) (waliyyul), meaning this is deserving of attribution -
[69] In this the third ugliness of them, is mentioned, teaching the words of polytheism and sin, that this is religion, it punishes it - and the same is said in verse (109) of Surah Al-Baqarah, (وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلَّا أَنْفُسَهُمْ) (wa maa yudilloona illaaa anfusahum) This is the reason that someone teaches the word and belief of disbelief and polytheism to another, he himself became a disbeliever and polytheist
[70] In this fourth ugliness of them are mentioned and punished for it - here the disbelief in the Torah was that in those verses about monotheism and the last Messenger, in which they distorted verbally and spiritually -
[71] In this statement, the fifth ugliness is with punishment, when they spoke to half-knowledge and unintelligent mullahs, they hid And they cast doubt in their hearts, and when they spoke to the illitrate peoples, they hid the truth from them - and these are two ways for the misleading peoples -
