002_124 surah 2: Al Baqarah
سَيَقُولُ 73 اَلٌبَقَرَة

أُولَئِكَ لَهُمْ نَصِيبٌ مِمَّا كَسَبُوا وَاللَّهُ سَرِيعُ الْحِسَابِ ﴿۲۰۲﴾ وَاذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ فِي أَيَّامٍ مَعْدُودَاتٍ فَمَنْ تَعَجَّلَ فِي يَوْمَيْنِ فَلَا إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ وَمَنْ تَأَخَّرَ فَلَا إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ لِمَنِ اتَّقَى وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ ﴿۲۰۳﴾ وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يُعْجِبُكَ قَوْلُهُ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَيُشْهِدُ اللَّهَ عَلَى مَا فِي قَلْبِهِ وَهُوَ أَلَدُّ الْخِصَامِ ﴿۲۰۴﴾ وَإِذَا تَوَلَّى سَعَى فِي الْأَرْضِ لِيُفْسِدَ فِيهَا وَيُهْلِكَ الْحَرْثَ وَالنَّسْلَ وَاللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْفَسَادَ ﴿۲۰۵﴾

﴾202﴿ Ulaaa'ika lahum naseebum mimmaa kasaboo; wal laahu saree'ul hisaab
﴾203﴿ Wazkurul laaha feee ayyaamin ma'doodaatin; faman ta'ajjala fee yawmaini falaaa ismaa 'alaihi wa man ta akhara falaaa isma 'alayhi; limanit-taqaa; wattaqul laaha wa'lamooo annakum ilaihi tuhsharoon
﴾204﴿ Wa minan naasi mai yu'jibuka qawluhoo fil hayaatid dunyaa wa yushhidul laaha 'alaa maa fee qalbihee wa huwa aladdulkhisaam
﴾205﴿ Wa izaa tawallaa sa'aa fil ardi liyufsida feeha wa yuhlikal harsa wannasl; wallaahu laa yuhibbul fasaad

﴾202﴿ Those people will have a share because of what they have done, and Allah is swift in taking account.
﴾203﴿ And remember Allah during the appointed days. So whoever hastens (to complete the rites) in two days, there is no sin upon him; and whoever delays (completing them to the third day), there is no sin upon him—this is for whoever fears Allah. And know that surely to Him you will all be gathered.
﴾204﴿ And among the people is he whose words impress you regarding the life of this world, and he even calls Allah to witness what is in his heart, yet he is the most quarrelsome of opponents.
﴾205﴿ And when he turns away, he strives throughout the land to cause corruption, destroying crops and offspring. And Allah does not love corruption.

[202] This verse applies to both groups.
“And Allah is swift in taking account”—it is established in the hadith that Allah will complete the reckoning for all of creation in the span of half a day by your reckoning.
[203] In this verse is the sixth ruling regarding Hajj—the days (the 11th, 12th, and 13th of Dhu’l-Hijjah) in Mina are for stoning with pebbles and saying “Allahu Akbar.”
This verse refutes those who claim that stoning on the third day is obligatory or forbidden; rather, every ruling should be accepted in its proper place.
From this, it is clear that declaring a recommended act as obligatory or forbidden is impermissible.
At this time, many innovations have arisen due to fanaticism and ignorance.
“For whoever fears Allah”—these rulings benefit only the God-fearing, who perform these acts out of piety, not merely out of habit or for show.
[204] In this verse, the third type of people is mentioned. This is not specific to Hajj, as they are discussed separately after the previous types, and are very unfortunate, with seven traits mentioned in total.
Three traits are mentioned here: “In the life of this world”—meaning he is very clever and active in worldly dealings, such as business or worldly politics.
“And he calls Allah to witness”—he makes claims and swears falsely, for example saying, “By Allah, I love you,” while he has no love at all.
“He is the most quarrelsome of opponents”—he is a severe enemy of Allah and His Messenger and of Islam, and is argumentative.
[205] In this verse, three more evils are mentioned. One meaning of tawallā is to become a ruler or have authority over some matter.
The second meaning is to turn away from you or your gathering.
“To cause corruption in it”—this includes every kind of corruption: shirk, disbelief, opposing the Qur’an and the Messenger, and striving for these.
“Crops and offspring”—this can mean burning people’s crops, stealing them, or, according to another interpretation, “crops” refers to women and “offspring” to the young of animals, while specifically for humans it means killing their children.
This also applies to the genocides (systematic killings) of this age.
