عَمَِّ 1500 اَلتَّکْوِیْرَ
َ وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَيْطَانٍ رَجِيمٍ ﴿۲۵﴾ فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ ﴿۲۶﴾ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِلْعَالَمِينَ ﴿۲۷﴾ لِمَنْ شَاءَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَسْتَقِيمَ ﴿۲۸﴾ وَمَا تَشَاءُونَ إِلَّا أَنْ يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ ﴿۲۹﴾
﴾25﴿ Wa maa huwa biqawli shaitaanir rajeem
﴾26﴿ Fa ayna tazhaboon
﴾27﴿ In huwa illaa zikrul lil'aalameen
﴾28﴿ Liman shaaa'a minkum ai yastaqeem
﴾29﴿ Wa maa tashaaa'oona illaaa ai yashaaa 'al laahu Rabbul 'Aalameen
﴾25﴿ And this is not the word of an accursed devil
﴾26﴿ So where are you going
﴾27﴿ This is nothing but a reminder for all mankind
﴾28﴿ For those among you who wish to walk the straight path
﴾29﴿ And you will not will unless Allah, the Most High, wills—the Lord of all mankind
[26] This is a rebuke — meaning: from the Messenger of Allah and His Book, to whom and to which book are you turning?
That is, after this path of truth, what other path can there be?
[27] This is an encouragement toward the Qur’an.
The pronoun (هُوَ) refers either to the Qur’an itself or to the content of this surah.
(ذِكْرٌ) — means a reminder of the Oneness of Allah and His commands, and it is advice and admonition to instill fear of the Day of Judgment.
[28,29] At the beginning of the verse, the condition for benefiting from the reminder is mentioned — that is, intention and the seeking of truth.
Meaning, the Qur’an is beneficial for the one who seeks guidance.
(لِمَنْ شَاءَ) — is a refutation of the Jabriyyah, as it affirms that a human possesses will, intention, and action.
And the latter part is a refutation of the Qadariyyah and Muʿtazilah, who believe that human will is independent — whereas in reality, it is under Allah’s control.
