َقَدْ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ 1389 اَلطَّلَاقُ
َ ذَلِكَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ أَنْزَلَهُ إِلَيْكُمْ وَمَنْ يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يُكَفِّرْ عَنْهُ سَيِّئَاتِهِ وَيُعْظِمْ لَهُ أَجْرًا ﴿۵﴾ أَسْكِنُوهُنَّ مِنْ حَيْثُ سَكَنْتُمْ مِنْ وُجْدِكُمْ وَلَا تُضَارُّوهُنَّ لِتُضَيِّقُوا عَلَيْهِنَّ وَإِنْ كُنَّ أُولَاتِ حَمْلٍ فَأَنْفِقُوا عَلَيْهِنَّ حَتَّى يَضَعْنَ حَمْلَهُنَّ فَإِنْ أَرْضَعْنَ لَكُمْ فَآتُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ وَأْتَمِرُوا بَيْنَكُمْ بِمَعْرُوفٍ وَإِنْ تَعَاسَرْتُمْ فَسَتُرْضِعُ لَهُ أُخْرَى ﴿۶﴾
﴾5﴿ Zaalika amrul laahi anzalahoo ilaikum; wa many yattaqil laaha yukaffir 'anhu saiyi aatihee wa yu'zim lahoo ajraa
﴾6﴿ Zaalika amrul laahi anzalahoo ilaikum; wa many yattaqil laaha yukaffir 'anhu saiyi aatihee wa yu'zim lahoo ajraa
﴾5﴿ This is the command of Allah, the Exalted, revealed for you, and whoever fears Allah, the Exalted, He removes his evils from him and increases his reward for him
﴾6﴿ Settle them where you dwell according to your means, and do not harm them to distress them. And if they are pregnant, provide for them until they give birth. Then, if they nurse (your children) for you, give them their due compensation and consult together in a good manner regarding the child. But if you find it difficult to agree, then another woman will nurse the child
[5] This is an emphasis on observing the previously mentioned rulings, and it also mentions two additional benefits of taqwa.
Note: Since there are three levels of taqwa, as mentioned in Surah al-Ma'idah (5:93), taqwa is also mentioned three times in this surah.
The first level is to preserve perfect belief in tawhid (the oneness of Allah) and to protect oneself from all forms of shirk (association with Allah).
The second level of taqwa is full commitment to the rulings of Allah, the Exalted—fulfilling His commands and avoiding His prohibitions. Here, ease (yusr) is mentioned, indicating that with it, difficulties become easy.
The third level is firmness and protecting oneself from doubtful matters. Two benefits of this are mentioned: the forgiveness of sins and the increase of reward and recompense.

[6] In this verse, six statements are mentioned, each containing a legal ruling.
First ruling: (أَسْكِنُوهُنَّ)—“House them”—this is the obligation to provide housing for a divorced woman, whether the divorce is raj‘i (revocable) or bā’in (irrevocable). In verse 1, the ruling for housing applied specifically to women divorced raj‘i, but here the command is general.
(وَإِنْ تَعَاسَرْتُمْ)—“If you disagree”*—this addresses the mother and father of the child, referring to a disagreement about the payment for breastfeeding. If they find it difficult to come to an agreement—meaning they are not cooperating—then it becomes obligatory on the father to hire another wet nurse for a fee.
