فَمَنْ أَظْلَمَُ 1132 الزمر
وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ فَصَعِقَ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ إِلَّا مَنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ ثُمَّ نُفِخَ فِيهِ أُخْرَى فَإِذَا هُمْ قِيَامٌ يَنْظُرُونَ ﴿۶۸﴾ وَأَشْرَقَتِ الْأَرْضُ بِنُورِ رَبِّهَا وَوُضِعَ الْكِتَابُ وَجِيءَ بِالنَّبِيِّينَ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ وَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ بِالْحَقِّ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ ﴿۶۹﴾ وَوُفِّيَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَا عَمِلَتْ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَفْعَلُونَ ﴿۷۰﴾ وَسِيقَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِلَى جَهَنَّمَ زُمَرًا حَتَّى إِذَا جَاءُوهَا فُتِحَتْ أَبْوَابُهَا وَقَالَ لَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَا أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِنْكُمْ يَتْلُونَ عَلَيْكُمْ آيَاتِ رَبِّكُمْ وَيُنْذِرُونَكُمْ لِقَاءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا قَالُوا بَلَى وَلَكِنْ حَقَّتْ كَلِمَةُ الْعَذَابِ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ ﴿۷۱﴾
﴾68﴿ Wa nufikha fis Soori fasa'iqa man fis samaawaati wa man fil ardi illaa man shaa'al lahu summa nufikha feehi ukhraa fa izaa hum qiyaamuny yanzuroon
﴾69﴿ Wa ashraqatil ardu binoori Rabbihaa wa wudi'al Kitaabu wa jeee'a bin nabiyyeena wash shuhadaaa'i wa qudiya bainahum bilhaqqi wa hum laa yuzlamoon
﴾70﴿ Wa wuffiyat kullu nafsim maa 'amilat wa Huwa a'lamu bimaa yaf'aloon
﴾71﴿ Wa seeqal lazeena kafaroo ilaa jahannama zumaraa hattaaa izaa jaaa'oohaa futihat abwaabuhaa wa qaala lahum khazanatuhaaa alam ya'tikum Rusulun minkum yatloona 'alaikum Aayaati Rabbikum wa yunziroonakum liqaaa'a Yawmikum haazaa; qaaloo balaa wa laakin haqqat kalimatul 'azaabi 'alal kaafireen
﴾68﴿ And the trumpet will be blown, and all who are in the heavens and all who are on the earth will fall dead, except those whom Allah wills (to spare). Then it will be blown again, and suddenly they will be standing, looking on
﴾69﴿ And the earth will shine with the light of its Lord, and the record (of deeds) will be placed, and the prophets and the witnesses will be brought forward, and it will be judged between them in truth, and they will not be wronged
﴾70﴿ And every soul will be fully compensated for what it did, and Allah is most knowing of what they do
﴾71﴿ And those who disbelieved will be driven to Hell in groups until, when they reach it, its gates will be opened, and its keepers will say, Did messengers not come to you from among yourselves, reciting to you the verses of your Lord and warning you about the meeting of this Day of yours, They will say, Yes, indeed. But the decree of punishment has been fulfilled against the disbelievers
[68] This verse contains a warning of the Hereafter, and along with what came before, it mentions the state of the world's annihilation.
"Faṣaʿiq" means death or unconsciousness—here, the first meaning (death) is more appropriate.
"Illā man shā'a Allah" (except whom Allah wills)—there are several interpretations of this:
1. According to Qatādah, its meaning is known to Allah but unknown to us.
2. The well-known view is that it refers to those whom Allah did not create for death, such as the maidens (ḥūr) and servants (ghilmān) of Paradise, and the snakes and scorpions of Hell.
3. Another opinion is that it refers to the angels, who do not die.
4. A fourth opinion is that it refers to those who have already died before.
The reason "faṣaʿiq" (death) is mentioned here is because at that time, the cause of death will be the awe and terror of the Day of Resurrection.
From this verse, it becomes explicitly clear that the Trumpet (ṣūr) will be blown twice:
— The first for annihilation (fana'), also referred to as terror (fazaʿ) as in Surah An-Naml (27:87), and also called ṣaʿq (death).
— The second for resurrection after death (baʿth baʿd al-mawt).
[69,70] On this day, resurrection and some states of reckoning are mentioned.
"Wa al-shuhadā’" (and the witnesses)—this is a case of generalization after specification: meaning, the prophets will be brought forth to bear witness, and other witnesses will also be present—such as the angels, the believers, and even the limbs of the criminals.
[71] In this passage, the final judgment and division of reward and punishment is described—after the reckoning and witnessing have taken place.
Now, in this verse, there is a warning of the Hereafter, along with the description of the state of the deniers.
"Zumarā" (in groups) refers to groups in which division is apparent. Even though disbelief (kufr) is a single creed, its types vary greatly, hence they are separated into groups.
"Futiḥat abwābuhā" (its gates will be opened)—as mentioned earlier in Surah Al-Ḥijr (15:44), there are seven gates of Hell.
This indicates that the gates will already be opened for them beforehand—this is a sign of their humiliation.
