اتْلُ مَا أُوحِيَْ 977 العنکبوت
يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّ أَرْضِي وَاسِعَةٌ فَإِيَّايَ فَاعْبُدُونِ ﴿۵۶﴾ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ ﴿۵۷﴾ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمْ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ غُرَفًا تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا نِعْمَ أَجْرُ الْعَامِلِينَ ﴿۵۸﴾ الَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ ﴿۵۹﴾ وَكَأَيِّنْ مِنْ دَابَّةٍ لَا تَحْمِلُ رِزْقَهَا اللَّهُ يَرْزُقُهَا وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ ﴿۶۰﴾ وَلَئِنْ سَأَلْتَهُمْ مَنْ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَيَقُولُنَّ اللَّهُ فَأَنَّى يُؤْفَكُونَ ﴿۶۱﴾
﴾56﴿ Yaa 'ibaadiyal lazeena aamanooo inna ardee waasi 'atun fa iyyaaya fa'budoon
﴾57﴿ Kullu nafsin zaaa'iqatul mawti summa ilainaa turja'oon
﴾58﴿ Wallazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati la nubawwi 'annahum minal Jannati ghurafan tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feehaa; ni'ma ajrul 'aamileen
﴾59﴿ Allazeena sabaroo wa 'alaa Rabbihim yatawakkaloon
﴾60﴿ Wa ka ayyim min daaabbatil laa tahmilu rizqahaa; al laahu yarzuquhaa wa iyyaakum; wa Huwas Samee'ul Aleem
﴾61﴿ Wa la'in sa altahum man khalaqas samaawaati wal arda wa sakhkharash shamsa wal qamara la yaqoolunnal laahu fa anna yu'fakoon
﴾56﴿ O My servants who have believed, indeed My earth is vast, so worship only Me
﴾57﴿ Every living being will taste death, and then you will be returned to Us
﴾58﴿ And those who have believed and performed righteous deeds, we will surely accommodate them in mansions of Paradise beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. How excellent is the reward for those who act (righteously)
﴾59﴿ Those who are patient and place their trust entirely in their Lord
﴾60﴿ And many living beings there are that do not carry their provision. Allah provides for them and for you. And He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing
﴾61﴿ And if you ask them, Who created the heavens and the earth and subjected the sun and the moon they will surely say, Allah, So how are they turned away from the truth
[56] From this verse to the end of the surah is the fourth section, in which the test through migration is mentioned in four ways.
Then, there are three rational proofs that also contain consolation for the emigrants, and in each proof, four aspects are mentioned.
Then, four rebukes are given, and the surah concludes with its central claim.
In verse (56), the first method is encouragement toward migration—that if in a land there is oppression from the polytheists and hindrance in expressing monotheism and acts of obedience, then it becomes necessary to leave one's homeland. However, abandoning religion is never permitted.
(Inna arḍī wāsi‘ah) — this indicates that through migration, one attains spaciousness and relief.
[57] This is the second method of encouraging migration—meaning, even from homeland, friends, and so on, separation will eventually come through death, which is beyond one’s control.
So before that happens, separate willingly for the sake of the religion of Allah the Exalted—i.e., migrate.
A similar point has been mentioned in Surah Āl-‘Imrān (3:185) as well.
[58,59] This is the third method of encouraging migration—meaning a special glad tidings is given due to migration.
In (alladhīna ṣabarū), patience over the hardships of migration is included.
Likewise, in (wa ‘alā rabbihim yatawakkalūn), abandoning reliance on homeland and its people is included.
And in ghurafan (lofty dwellings), there is an indication that if one gives up worldly places through migration, then in Paradise elevated places will be granted.
[60] This is the fourth method of encouraging migration—meaning, a person should not fall into the misconception: “If I leave my homeland, how will I find sustenance?”
The answer is given: Allah the Exalted provides sustenance to all powerless creatures, so He will certainly provide for the one who migrates in His path.
[61] This is a rational proof based on acknowledgment of monotheism and a rebuke to the polytheists, in which four matters are mentioned.
Its relevance to the fourth method of encouraging migration is this: know that sustenance comes from Allah the Exalted, because He is the Creator, the Manager, the Distributor, and the One who creates the means of sustenance—and even the polytheists acknowledge these attributes.
(as-samāwāt) — from the heavens, sustenance is decreed and rain descends.
(al-arḍ) — from the earth, plants that provide sustenance grow.
(ash-shams) — through the sun, fruits and grains ripen.
(al-qamar) — through the moon, plants grow and their colors change.
