أَمَّنْ خَلَقََْ 928 النمل
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَى هَذَا الْوَعْدُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ ﴿۷۱﴾ قُلْ عَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ رَدِفَ لَكُمْ بَعْضُ الَّذِي تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ ﴿۷۲﴾ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ ﴿۷۳﴾ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَيَعْلَمُ مَا تُكِنُّ صُدُورُهُمْ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ ﴿۷۴﴾ وَمَا مِنْ غَائِبَةٍ فِي السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ إِلَّا فِي كِتَابٍ مُبِينٍ ﴿۷۵﴾ إِنَّ هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ يَقُصُّ عَلَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ أَكْثَرَ الَّذِي هُمْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ ﴿۷۶﴾ وَإِنَّهُ لَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿۷۷﴾
﴾71﴿ Wa yaqooloona mataa haazal wa'du in kuntum saadiqeen
﴾72﴿ Qul 'asaaa any-yakoona radifa lakum ba'dul lazee tasta'jiloon
﴾73﴿ Wa inna Rabbaka lazoo fadlin 'alan naasi wa laakinna aksarahum laa yashkuroon
﴾74﴿ Wa inna Rabbaka la ya'lamu maa tukinnu sudooruhum wa maa yu'linoon
﴾75﴿ Wa maa min ghaaa'ibatin fis samaaa'i wal ardi illaa fee kitaabin mubeen
﴾76﴿ Inna haazal Qur-aana yaqussu 'alaa Baneee israaa'eela aksaral lazee hum feehi yakhtalifoon
﴾77﴿ Wa innahoo lahudanw wa rahmatul lilmu'mineen
﴾71﴿ And they say, When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful
﴾72﴿ Say, It may be that some of the punishment you seek to hasten is already close to you
﴾73﴿ And indeed, your Lord is full of bounty for the people, but most of them do not give thanks (to Allah)
﴾74﴿ And indeed, your Lord knows what their chests conceal and what they reveal
﴾75﴿ And there is nothing hidden in the heavens and the earth except that it is in a clear Record
﴾76﴿ Indeed, this Qur'an explains to the Children of Israel most of that over which they differ
﴾77﴿ And indeed, this Qur'an is guidance and mercy for the believers
[71] This verse is a rebuke (zajr) directed at the deniers for their rejection of the Resurrection.
[72] This verse is a response in the form of worldly warning (takhwīf dunyawī), because “ba‘ḍu alladhī” refers to a portion of the worldly punishment.
And this is the ninth address to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and give him peace).
[73] This too is a rebuke (zajr)—that Allah Most High, by His grace, delays the punishment from them, yet they do not show gratitude for this favor.
This is still part of the ninth address to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and give him peace).
[74] This is a rational proof and a refutation of shirk fī al-‘ilm (associating partners with Allah in knowledge).
And it is the tenth address to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and give him peace).
[75] This too is a rational proof and a refutation of shirk fī al-‘ilm (associating others with Allah in knowledge).
The phrase “kitābin mubīn” refers to the Preserved Tablet (al-Lawḥ al-Maḥfūẓ).
The core message of both proofs is that Allah Most High is fully aware of the condition of these deniers—but He grants them respite.
[76] This verse is an encouragement (targhīb) toward the Qur’an.
Since some of the unseen matters were the disputes among the Children of Israel, it is hinted here that such unseen realities are clarified through the Noble Qur’an.
There is also an indication that the events related to Sulaiman (peace be upon him) were concealed, altered, and falsely reported by the Children of Israel—yet this Surah reveals the truth of those matters.
[77] This verse is also an encouragement toward the Qur’an by mentioning two comprehensive attributes.
