أَمَّنْ خَلَقََْ 927 النمل

وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَإِذَا كُنَّا تُرَابًا وَآبَاؤُنَا أَئِنَّا لَمُخْرَجُونَ ﴿۶۷﴾ لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا هَذَا نَحْنُ وَآبَاؤُنَا مِنْ قَبْلُ إِنْ هَذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿۶۸﴾ قُلْ سِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَانْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ ﴿۶۹﴾ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا تَكُنْ فِي ضَيْقٍ مِمَّا يَمْكُرُونَ ﴿۷۰﴾

﴾67﴿ Wa qaalal lazeena kafarooo 'a-izaa kunnaa turaabanw wa aabaaa'unaaa a'innaa lamukhrajoon
﴾68﴿ Laqad wu'idnaa haazaa nahnu wa aabaaa'unaa min qablu in haazaaa illaaa asaateerul awwaleen
﴾69﴿ Qul seeroo fil ardi fanzuroo kaifa kaana 'aaqibatul mujrimeen
﴾70﴿ Wa laa tahzan 'alaihim wa laa takun fee daiqin mimmaa yamkuroon

﴾67﴿ And those who disbelieve say, When we have become dust, along with our forefathers, will we indeed be brought forth
﴾68﴿ Indeed, we were promised this, we and our forefathers, before. This is nothing but tales of the ancients
﴾69﴿ Say, Travel through the land and see how the end of the criminals was
﴾70﴿ And do not grieve over them, nor be in distress because of their schemes

[67,68] This verse is also a rebuke for denying resurrection after death.
Their denial is purely based on deeming it far-fetched—they consider it irrational or improbable, but they have no actual proof for their rejection.
In the second part of the verse, it is hinted that the belief in resurrection originates from the heart (i.e., it is a deeply rooted truth), but the deniers label it as legends (asāṭīr)—just as in today's times, communists say that the stories of the Hereafter are fabrications of religious scholars.
A similar expression appears in Surah Al-Mu’minūn (23:82).
Benefit: In that verse (Surah Al-Mu’minūn), because the mention of the forefathers of the rejecters was more prominent, the word “ābā’” (forefathers) was brought before “hādhā” (this), i.e., “our forefathers upon this.” Whereas in this Surah, since the denial itself is mentioned more directly and recently, the word “hādhā” was brought forward: “this is nothing but the tales of the former people.”
[69] In this verse, the response to their denial is given through a method of worldly warning (takhwīf dunyawī), and this is the fifth address to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and give him peace) in this Surah.
[70] This verse is a consolation (tasliyyah) to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and give him peace) regarding the denial of the rejecters and their plotting against him in opposition.
Within this verse are the sixth and seventh addresses to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and give him peace).
