إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِي الْغَابِرِينَ ﴿۱۷۱﴾ ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا الْآخَرِينَ ﴿۱۷۲﴾ وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ مَطَرًا فَسَاءَ مَطَرُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ ﴿۱۷۳﴾ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿۱۷۴﴾ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ ﴿۱۷۵﴾ كَذَّبَ أَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ ﴿۱۷۶﴾ إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ﴿۱۷۷﴾ إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ﴿۱۷۸﴾ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ﴿۱۷۹﴾ وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ﴿۱۸۰﴾ أَوْفُوا الْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا مِنَ الْمُخْسِرِينَ ﴿۱۸۱﴾ وَزِنُوا بِالْقِسْطَاسِ الْمُسْتَقِيمِ ﴿۱۸۲﴾ وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا النَّاسَ أَشْيَاءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ ﴿۱۸۳﴾

﴾172﴿ Summa dammarnal aa khareen
﴾173﴿ Wa amtarnaa 'alaihim mataran fasaaa'a matarul munzareen
﴾174﴿ Inna fee zaalika la Aayah; wa maa kaana aksaruhum mu'mineen

﴾176﴿ Kazzaba As haabul Aykatil mursaleen

﴾173﴿ And We rained upon them a rain of torment. How dreadful was the rain of those who were warned

﴾175﴿ And indeed, your Lord—He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful
﴾176﴿ The companions of the garden denied the messengers
﴾177﴿ When Shu‘ayb (peace be upon him) said to them, Will you not save yourselves from the punishment
﴾178﴿ Surely, I am for you a trustworthy messenger
﴾179﴿ So fear Allah, the Exalted, and obey me
﴾180﴿ And I do not ask you for any reward for this; my reward is only from the Lord of all the worlds
﴾181﴿ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss
﴾182﴿ And weigh with an even balance
﴾183﴿ And do not diminish the people's wealth, nor act as corruptors in the land

[from 176 to 180] In this seventh story, the mention is of Shu‘ayb (peace be upon him) and his people — the People of the Thicket (أصحاب الأيكة).
It is more correct to consider this group different from the People of Madyan, and for this reason, their punishment is also mentioned separately from that of the People of Madyan.
Shu‘ayb (peace be upon him) also delivered five core statements in his message.
[181,182,183] The people of Shu‘ayb (peace be upon him), in addition to committing shirk, were also guilty of oppression in trade — they had adopted deceptive practices to acquire wealth.
Because of this, Shu‘ayb (peace be upon him) strove to reform them.
