وَقَالَ الَّذِينَْ 892 الشعراء

إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى اللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ ﴿۸۹﴾ وَأُزْلِفَتِ الْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ ﴿۹۰﴾ وَبُرِّزَتِ الْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ ﴿۹۱﴾ وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ ﴿۹۲﴾ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ هَلْ يَنْصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنْتَصِرُونَ ﴿۹۳﴾ فَكُبْكِبُوا فِيهَا هُمْ وَالْغَاوُونَ ﴿۹۴﴾ وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ ﴿۹۵﴾ قَالُوا وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ ﴿۹۶﴾ تَاللَّهِ إِنْ كُنَّا لَفِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ ﴿۹۷﴾ إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُمْ بِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ﴿۹۸﴾

﴾89﴿ Illaa man atal laaha biqalbin saleem
﴾90﴿ Wa uzlifatil Jannatu lilmuttaqeen
﴾91﴿ Wa burrizatil Jaheemu lilghaaween
﴾92﴿ Wa qeela lahum aina maa kuntum ta'budoon
﴾93﴿ Min doonil laahi hal yansuroonakum aw yantasiroon
﴾94﴿ Fakubkiboo feehaa hum walghaawoon
﴾95﴿ Wa junoodu Ibleesa ajma'oon
﴾96﴿ Qaaloo wa hum feehaa yakkhtasimoon
﴾97﴿ Tallaahi in kunnaa lafee dalaalim mubeen
﴾98﴿ Tallaahi in kunnaa lafee dalaalim mubeen

﴾89﴿ But only the one who comes to Allah, the Most High, with a sound heart
﴾90﴿ And Paradise will be brought near for the righteous
﴾91﴿ And Hell will be made visible for the transgressors
﴾92﴿ And it will be said to them, Where are those whom you used to worship
﴾93﴿ Besides Allah, can they help you or even defend themselves
﴾94﴿ So they will be thrown into it, they and the transgressors
﴾95﴿ And all the armies of Iblis (Satan) altogether
﴾96﴿ They will say, while they dispute with one another in it
﴾97﴿ By Allah, indeed we were in clear misguidanceót
﴾98﴿ When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds

[89] “With a sound heart” (بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ) — meaning a heart that is free from polytheism and disbelief, from innovation and worldly greed, and one that fears Allah the Exalted. The other limbs follow the heart, and for this reason, they were not mentioned. The intent of such a person is a monotheistic believer. His wealth and righteous children benefit him when they are used in accordance with the Shariah. Alternatively, “sound” may refer to the chosen one, and the intent is one who fears (Allah).
[90] Since the Day of Resurrection was mentioned earlier, now in these verses some of its detailed states are described. In this verse, there is glad tidings of Paradise being brought near — meaning that the righteous will not be tasked with walking toward it, rather Paradise will be brought near to them.
[91] This is a warning related to the Hereafter. “For the deviators” (لِلْغَاوِينَ) — the intended meaning here is the idolaters who worshiped and obeyed the polytheistic scholars, elders, and people of authority. They committed this act of polytheism due to the whispers of Iblis and his progeny.
[92] This questioning is for the purpose of rebuke — to show the helplessness of their false gods. The intended meaning of “their gods” refers to those who were themselves also polytheists and innovators.
[93] They cannot help their worshippers by saving them from the punishment. “Or defend themselves” (أَوْ يَنْتَصِرُونَ) — meaning they cannot even ward off the punishment from themselves.
[94] The intended meaning of “they” (هُمْ) refers to the false gods, and “the deviators” (وَالْغَاوُونَ) refers to the worshippers.
[95] The army of Iblis refers to those who, due to the whispers of Iblis, have become entangled in various sins.
[96,97,98,99] When these worshippers lose hope in their gods, they begin to argue with them. “We equated you” (نُسَوِّيكُمْ) — the meaning is that the acts of obedience and worship which were due to Allah the Exalted, we directed them toward you as well. This equality does not mean equality in all attributes, because all polytheists considered their gods lesser and inferior to Allah the Exalted, and made them intermediaries to reach Allah — as the phrase “besides Allah” (مِنْ دُوْنِ) in many verses, as well as verse 18 of Surah Yunus and verse 3 of Surah Zumar, indicate this. “The criminals” (الْمُجْرِمُونَ) refers to Iblis and his progeny, whose whispers became the cause of people's misguidance.
