قَدْ أَفْلَحَْ 834 المؤمنون
فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ فَلَا أَنْسَابَ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَلَا يَتَسَاءَلُونَ ﴿۱۰۱﴾ فَمَنْ ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ فَأُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ ﴿۱۰۲﴾ وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ فَأُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ خَسِرُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ فِي جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدُونَ ﴿۱۰۳﴾ تَلْفَحُ وُجُوهَهُمُ النَّارُ وَهُمْ فِيهَا كَالِحُونَ ﴿۱۰۴﴾ أَلَمْ تَكُنْ آيَاتِي تُتْلَى عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنْتُمْ بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ ﴿۱۰۵﴾ قَالُوا رَبَّنَا غَلَبَتْ عَلَيْنَا شِقْوَتُنَا وَكُنَّا قَوْمًا ضَالِّينَ ﴿۱۰۶﴾ رَبَّنَا أَخْرِجْنَا مِنْهَا فَإِنْ عُدْنَا فَإِنَّا ظَالِمُونَ ﴿۱۰۷﴾
﴾101﴿ Fa izaa nufikha fis Soori falaaa ansaaba bainahum yawma'izinw wa laa yatasaaa'aloon
﴾102﴿ Faman saqulat mawaazee nuhoo fa ulaaa'ika humul muflihoon
﴾103﴿ Wa man khaffat mawaa zeenuhoo fa ulaaa'ikal lazeena khasiroo 'anfusahum fee Jahannama khaalidoon
﴾104﴿ Talfahu wujoohahumun Naaru wa hum feehaa kaalihoon
﴾105﴿ Alam takun Aayaatee tutlaa 'alaikum fakuntum bihaa tukazziboon
﴾106﴿ Qaaloo Rabbanaa ghalabat 'alainaa shiqwatunaa wa kunnaa qawman daaalleen
﴾107﴿ Rabbanaa akhrijnaa minhaa fa in 'udnaa fa innaa zaalimoon
﴾101﴿ Then, when the Trumpet is blown, there will be no kinship among them that Day, nor will they ask of one another
﴾102﴿ Then those whose scales are heavy with good deeds—it is they who will be successful and saved from the punishment
﴾103﴿ And those whose scales are light—it is they who have harmed themselves, abiding in Hell eternally
﴾104﴿ The Fire will scorch their faces, and they will be in it with grim, distorted expressions
﴾105﴿ Were not My signs recited to you, and you used to deny them
﴾106﴿ They will say, "Our Lord, our wretchedness overcame us, and we were a misguided people
﴾107﴿ Our Lord, remove us from this [punishment], and if we return [to wrongdoing], then indeed we would be wrongdoers
[101] From this verse begins the warning related to the Hereafter. The "Trumpet" referred to is the second blowing of the trumpet. The meaning of "(فَلَا أَنْسَابَ)" is that family ties will be of no benefit; rather, people will flee from one another, as mentioned in Surah ‘Abasa (35).
"(وَلَا يَتَسَاءَلُونَ)"—If it is objected that in Surah As-Saffat (27), questioning one another is mentioned, then how is it negated in this verse? The first answer is that the states of the Day of Judgment vary; in some stages they can question one another.
The second answer is that in this verse, the first trumpet is meant—at that time they cannot question each other, and after the second trumpet they can. This is narrated in Tafsir al-Qurtubi from Ibn Abbas.
The third answer is that they cannot ask one another for mercy or help, and the questioning that happens is only for the sake of reproach or reprimand.
[102] This glad tidings is brief, and the meaning of "(مَوَازِينُهُ)" is deeds, and "(ثَقُلَتْ)" refers to their alignment with the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger. A similar statement is found in Surah Al-A‘raf (8).
[from 103 to 115] In these verses, seven conditions of punishment and seven causes of punishment are mentioned, which become clear through reflection and contemplation. "(كَالِحُونَ)"—the detail of this disfigurement is mentioned in a hadith of Tirmidhi: their faces will be burned in the Fire, so that the upper lip will reach the top of the head and the lower lip will reach the navel, and their teeth will be exposed.
"(شِقْوَتُنَا)"—this refers to the desires and pleasures of the world that lead to misery, or it refers to predestined wretchedness.
"(اخْسَئُوا)"—Arabs use this word to drive away a dog. This implies that their condition becomes like that of a dog, or that in the world, they used to bark at the monotheists like dogs and mock them.
As mentioned in the next verse, you used to mock and laugh at the monotheists. "(فَرِيقٌ مِنْ عِبَادِي)" refers to those people who possess the qualities mentioned at the beginning and middle of this surah, and even with those qualities, they still seek forgiveness and mercy from Allah.
"(وَكُنْتُمْ مِنْهُمْ تَضْحَكُونَ)" is similar to what is mentioned in Surah Al-Mutaffifin (29).
"(فَاسْأَلِ الْعَادِّينَ)" refers to those who keep account, either knowledgeable people or the noble recording angels—meaning that due to extreme awe and confusion, they become heedless of the real answer.
"(أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ)"—this warning also takes place in the Hereafter, or it may be a speech from the beginning, serving as a warning to the deniers of monotheism and resurrection.
