اقْتَرَبَ ْ 812 الحج
الْمُلْكُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلَّهِ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ فَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ فِي جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ ﴿۵۶﴾ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَكَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا فَأُولَئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُهِينٌ ﴿۵۷﴾ وَالَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ قُتِلُوا أَوْ مَاتُوا لَيَرْزُقَنَّهُمُ اللَّهُ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَهُوَ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ ﴿۵۸﴾ لَيُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ مُدْخَلًا يَرْضَوْنَهُ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَعَلِيمٌ حَلِيمٌ ﴿۵۹﴾ ذَلِكَ وَمَنْ عَاقَبَ بِمِثْلِ مَا عُوقِبَ بِهِ ثُمَّ بُغِيَ عَلَيْهِ لَيَنْصُرَنَّهُ اللَّهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَعَفُوٌّ غَفُورٌ ﴿۶۰﴾
﴾56﴿ Almulku Yawma'izil lillaahi yahkumu bainahum; fallazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati fee jannaatin Na'eem
﴾57﴿ Wallazeena kafaroo wa kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa fa ulaaa'ika lahum 'azaabum muheen
﴾58﴿ Wallazeena haajaroo fee sabeelil laahi summa qutilooo aw maatoo la yarzuqan nahumul laahu rizqan hasanaa; wa innal laaha la Huwa khairur raaziqeen
﴾59﴿ La yudkhilan nahum mud khalany yardawnah; wa innal laaha la 'Aleemun Haleem
﴾60﴿ Zaalika wa man 'aaqaba bimisli maa 'ooqiba bihee summa bughiya 'alaihi la yansurannahul laah; innal laaha la 'Afuwwun Ghafoor
﴾56﴿ On that day, sovereignty belongs solely to Allah. He will decide among them, and those who believed and acted according to the Sunnah will be in gardens full of blessings
﴾57﴿ And those who disbelieved and denied Our signs, for them is a humiliating punishment
﴾58﴿ And those who migrated for the religion of Allah, then were killed or died, Allah will surely provide them with a good provision. And indeed, Allah is the best of providers
﴾59﴿ He will surely admit them to a place of entry that they will be pleased with, and indeed, Allah is All-Knowing, Most Forbearing
﴾60﴿ This is a certain promise, and whoever retaliates with the like of what he was afflicted with, and then he is wronged, Allah will surely help him. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving, Merciful
[56] This verse indicates that no one can avert this punishment, because the power and authority belong solely to Allah.
After this warning, the verse transitions to glad tidings (bashārah)—giving hope and reassurance to the believers after the intense warning directed at the disbelievers.
[57] This is a warning about the Hereafter.
[58] From this verse to the end of the Surah is the fourth section. It encourages migration with glad tidings, and also encourages fighting by mentioning Allah’s support and the causes of that support. Then it presents five rational proofs for monotheism, explains the method of invitation, gives another rational proof, includes the ninth and tenth warnings, refutes the polytheists with the example of the fly, answers two questions, provides a final rational argument, and ends with eight commands for steadfastness in monotheism and its propagation.
In this verse (58), there is glad tidings specifically for the migrants, following the general glad tidings given to the believers in verse (56).
This verse shows that whether someone dies naturally after migration or is killed, both are rewarded equally in certain blessings—though in rank, the martyr killed in battle is still superior.
“Good provision” (رِزْقًا حَسَنًا) refers to sustenance that is effortless, constantly pleasurable, and free from any deficiency or illness. This provision is in the Barzakh, as mentioned in Surah Āl-‘Imrān (3:169), or it may refer to Paradise.
The plural “providers” (الرَّازِقِينَ) refers outwardly to people, since they may provide sustenance to one another by Allah’s permission.
[59] This is also a glad tiding—of a place—following the glad tiding of provision, because concern for sustenance usually comes before concern for where one will settle.
[60] In this verse, there is a worldly glad tiding along with the promise of divine support, following the earlier glad tiding of the Hereafter.
The phrase “عُوقِبَ” refers to retaliating through fighting, and “ثُمَّ بُغِيَ عَلَيْهِ” is coordinated with it, meaning: someone was burdened or harmed, and then wrongfully oppressed again, such as being expelled from their homeland.
When that person then responds with fighting, Allah certainly grants him victory.
