[17] In this verse, the third attribute of Allah’s power is mentioned, which is His protection of the heavens through the stars.
[18] In this verse, the method of protection is mentioned, which is the striking of the devils, as also mentioned in verses 8 and 9 of Surah Al-Jinn and verses 8, 9, and 10 of Surah As-Saffat.
[19] In this verse, three attributes of power are mentioned. The word “mad” (spreading of the earth) is mentioned three times in the Qur’an: in verse 3 of Surah Ar-Ra‘d, verse 7 of Surah Qāf, and in this surah. It is also mentioned with the word “dahw” in verse 30 of Surah An-Nāzi‘āt and with the word “farsh” in verse 48 of Surah Adh-Dhāriyāt and verse 22 of Surah Al-Baqarah. In all these, the meaning is the preparation of the earth in a way that humans can benefit from it.
The “mad” of the earth is also mentioned as a sign of the Day of Judgment, such as in verse 3 of Surah Al-Inshiqāq, meaning mountains, hills, and valleys will be removed, and the earth will become a flat plain.
“Mawzūn” refers to things that can be weighed, like gold, silver, and iron, or it refers to things that are in balance with Allah’s wisdom.
[20] In this verse, one attribute of power is mentioned. (مَعَايِشَ) refers to the means of sustaining life. (وَمَنْ لَسْتُمْ لَهُ بِرَازِقِينَ) refers to animals, wild beasts, birds, children, and servants—those who benefit creation but whose provision is given by Allah.
[21] In this verse, two attributes of power are mentioned. It is evidence that the treasures of provision and other matters are distributed by Allah according to His wisdom, and no one can object to Him.
Benefit: This verse proves that anyone who believes the control of Allah’s treasures has been given to a prophet or a saint is a polytheist, as the ignorant people claim about Dātā and Ganj Bakhsh regarding Ali Hujwiri in Lahore.
