وَمَا أُبَرِّئٍُ 568 الرعد

اللَّهُ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَقْدِرُ وَفَرِحُوا بِالْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا مَتَاعٌ ﴿۲۶﴾ وَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَوْلَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ آيَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِ قُلْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُضِلُّ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي إِلَيْهِ مَنْ أَنَابَ ﴿۲۷﴾ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَتَطْمَئِنُّ قُلُوبُهُمْ بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ أَلَا بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ ﴿۲۸﴾ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ طُوبَى لَهُمْ وَحُسْنُ مَآبٍ ﴿۲۹﴾

﴾26﴿ Allaahu yabsutur rizqa limai yashaaa'u wa yaqdir; wa farihoo bilhayaatid dunyaa wa mal hayaatud dunya fil Aakhirati illaa mataa'
﴾27﴿ Wa yaqoolul lazeena kafaroo law laaa unzila 'alaihi Aayatum mir Rabbih; qul innal laaha yudillu mai yashaa'u wa yahdeee ilaihi man anaab
﴾28﴿ Allazeena aamanoo wa tatma'innu quloobuhum bizikril laah; alaa bizikril laahi tatma'innul quloob
﴾29﴿ Allazeena aamanoo wa a'amilus saalihaati toobaa lahum wa husnu ma aab

﴾26﴿ Allah expands provision for whom He wills and restricts it. And they rejoice in the life of this world, while the life of this world, compared to the Hereafter, is nothing but a fleeting enjoyment
﴾27﴿ And the disbelievers say, Why has no sign (miracle) been sent down to him from his Lord, Say, Indeed, Allah leads astray whom He wills and guides to Himself those who turn to Him
﴾28﴿ These are the ones who have believed, and their hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah. Be aware! It is only in the remembrance of Allah that hearts find peace

In verse 26, there is the twelfth rational argument for tawhid, along with a warning. In verse 27, there is a warning directed at those who deny the Messenger. Verses 28–29 bring glad tidings. Verse 30 presents proof of prophethood tied with monotheism. Verse 31 responds to the question of the deniers, along with a worldly warning. Verse 32 offers consolation to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and give him peace).
Verse 26: Contains a rational proof for tawhid, along with a rebuke of love for the dunya, which is the underlying cause of the previous disgraceful traits. It answers the question: Does the abundance of wealth and provision for the deniers prove that they are not cursed? The answer: No, because worldly wealth has no real value in determining one's status with Allah.
“وَفَرِحُوا” – and they rejoiced: This refers to arrogant, boastful joy (بَطَر), which is prohibited.
“وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا” – And the worldly life...: This is a form of detachment from the dunya (تزهید فی الدنیا), emphasizing its insignificance compared to the Hereafter.
[27] In this verse, there is a rebuke of those who demand miracles from the Messenger, and the response to their demand is also given.
This statement of theirs is connected to “فَرِحُوا” (they rejoiced arrogantly), indicating that their demand is rooted in pride and arrogance, not sincerity.
The essence of the response is that guidance and misguidance are entirely in the control of Allah, and likewise, miracles are also in His authority, not the Prophet’s.
“مَنْ أَنَابَ” – Whoever turns (to Allah): The meaning of inabah (انابت) is that truth lies in a certain direction, and the servant turns toward it with his heart, free from stubbornness or hostility.
The word “آيَةٌ” (sign) here refers to a miracle, particularly one linked to worldly prosperity or provision, similar to what is mentioned in Surah Al-Isra (Bani Isra’il), verses 91–93.
[28] This verse contains glad tidings.
The meaning of “طمأنینه (طمئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ)” – tranquility of the hearts through the remembrance of Allah is:
First, it means that when the Qur'an and Sunnah are mentioned, the believer’s heart becomes certain and finds peace in those words. The second meaning is that through tawhid (monotheism) and recitation of the Qur’an, the heart attains calmness and inner peace.
“أَلَا بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ” – Since the previous sentence was general, this statement is added to provide specificity, which is why “بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ” is brought forward for emphasis.
The core message of the verse is that true tranquility is: Exclusive to the believers, and Comes only through the remembrance of Allah, which includes the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and constant remembrance with the heart and tongue.
This also includes when a believer swears by Allah, their heart is comforted, or when Qur’anic evidence and Hadith are mentioned, they gain certainty.
[29] This verse also contains glad tidings.
The word “طُوبَى” means a blessed and pure state, and it includes multiple meanings: It refers to Paradise itself, To the trees of Paradise, and To all the blessings and delights within Paradise.
In short, “طُوبَى” symbolizes the complete goodness and eternal joy that awaits the righteous in the Hereafter.
