يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ هَمَّ قَوْمٌ أَنْ يَبْسُطُوا إِلَيْكُمْ أَيْدِيَهُمْ فَكَفَّ أَيْدِيَهُمْ عَنْكُمْ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿۱۱﴾ وَلَقَدْ أَخَذَ اللَّهُ مِيثَاقَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَبَعَثْنَا مِنْهُمُ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ نَقِيبًا وَقَالَ اللَّهُ إِنِّي مَعَكُمْ لَئِنْ أَقَمْتُمُ الصَّلَاةَ وَآتَيْتُمُ الزَّكَاةَ وَآمَنْتُمْ بِرُسُلِي وَعَزَّرْتُمُوهُمْ وَأَقْرَضْتُمُ اللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا لَأُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْكُمْ سَيِّئَاتِكُمْ وَلَأُدْخِلَنَّكُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ فَمَنْ كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ مِنْكُمْ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ سَوَاءَ السَّبِيلِ ﴿۱۲﴾

﴾11﴿ Yaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanuz kuroo ni'matallaahi 'alaikum iz hamma qawmun ai yabsutooo ilaikum aidiyahum fakaffa aidiyahum 'ankum wattaqullaah; wa'alal laahi fal yatawakkalil mu'minoon
﴾12﴿ Wa laqad akhazal laahu meesaaqa Banee Israaa'eela wa ba'asnaa minhumus nai 'ashara naqeebanw wa qaalal laahu innee ma'akum la'in aqamtumus Salaata wa aataitumuz Zakaata wa aamantum bi Rusulee wa'azzartumoohum wa aqradtumul laaha qardan hasanal la ukaffiranna 'ankum saiyiaatikum wa la udkhilan nakum Jannaatin tajree min tahtihal anhaar; faman kafara ba'da zaalika minkum faqad dalla sawaaa'as Sabeel

﴾11﴿ O believers: remember the blessings of Allah upon you when they intended a people to extend their hands to you, then He withheld their hands from you And fear Allah, the Most High, and only Allah, the Most High, so let the believers submit themselves
﴾12﴿ And indeed, Allah, the Exalted, took a firm promise from the children of Israel, and We sent twelve commanders (captains) from among them, and He said, Allah, the Exalted, I am with you, if you observe the prayer And give zakat and have faith in my messengers and help them and lend to Allah, a loan sincerely, I will certainly remove your sins from you And I surely will admit you to gardens under which rivers flow, so whoever disbelieves after this, then surely he has lost the right path

[11] This also serves as encouragement for fulfilling contracts by mentioning the blessing of protection from enemies and providing worldly glad tidings after the promise of rewards in the Hereafter. "When a people intended" refers to the Battle of Usfan, where the polytheists planned to attack the believers during their prayer, leading to the revelation of the verse on the prayer of fear. It also alludes to the incident of the Bedouin who drew his sword against the Messenger (May Allah bless him and give him peace) but later embraced faith, as well as the event of Banu Nadir, where the Prophet (May Allah bless him and give him peace) had gone to negotiate peace, but they plotted to kill him, yet Allah protected him. Due to the general wording, this signifies the defeat of disbelievers and the continuous protection and security of believers in all times. This is a great blessing from Allah. "And fear Allah" indicates that such blessings are attained through piety and reliance upon Allah.
[12] This pertains to "Oufu bil-Uqood" (Fulfill the contracts), describing the state of those who do not fulfill their covenants—namely, the Jews. Thus, this serves as the first example of worldly punishment for those who break their covenants, mentioning five pledges followed by five worldly punishments due to breaking them. "A leader" refers to an investigator of the affairs of the Children of Israel, also called a guardian, trustee, and guarantor. There were twelve clans among the Children of Israel, and from each clan, one leader was appointed to maintain their reformation, order, and structure. These leaders were always present among them, and their names have been recorded by Qurtubi and Ibn Kathir. "I am with you" is understood unanimously by the pious predecessors to refer to a special type of companionship, meaning divine support and assistance. "If you establish prayer" outlines the details of the covenant in five aspects. "And you believe in My messengers" means accepting all messengers without distinction and affirming their truthfulness. "And you honor them"—this term, when combined with "support," as seen in verse 157 of Surah Al-A'raf, indicates a distinction between the two. However, when mentioned separately, they share the same meaning: supporting and defending the religion against people's doubts and enemies, pointing towards the duty of invitation and striving in the cause of faith. "And you lend to Allah"—after mentioning charity, this refers to spending in the way of Allah, as financial sacrifice is greatly needed alongside invitation and striving for the faith.
