َقَدْ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ 1395 اَلتَّحْرِیْم

َ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا قُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ وَأَهْلِيكُمْ نَارًا وَقُودُهَا النَّاسُ وَالْحِجَارَةُ عَلَيْهَا مَلَائِكَةٌ غِلَاظٌ شِدَادٌ لَا يَعْصُونَ اللَّهَ مَا أَمَرَهُمْ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ ﴿۶﴾ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَا تَعْتَذِرُوا الْيَوْمَ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿۷﴾

﴾6﴿ Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanoo qooo anfusakum wa ahleekum naaranw waqoodu han naasu wal hijaaratu 'alaihaa malaaa'ikatun ghilaazun shidaadul laa ya'soonal laaha maa amarahum wa yaf'aloona maa yu'maroon
﴾7﴿ Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena kafaroo la ta'tazirul yawma innamaa tujzawna maa kuntum ta'maloon

﴾6﴿ O you who believe! Protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, over which are [appointed] angels, stern and severe, who do not disobey Allah in what He commands them and do as they are ordered
﴾7﴿ (It will be said), O disbelievers, make no excuses this Day You are only being recompensed for what you used to do

[6] Since the previous discussion established that the husband has rights over his wife—such as not revealing his secrets, not siding against him, and embodying the qualities of righteous women—now the wife’s rights over the husband are mentioned.
(قُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ وَأَهْلِيكُمْ نَارًا)—“Protect yourselves and your families from the Fire.” A man saves his family by commanding good and forbidding evil, by teaching them proper manners in general, and specifically by teaching them how to pray and commanding them to do so before they reach puberty.
(وَقُودُهَا النَّاسُ وَالْحِجَارَةُ)—“Its fuel is people and stones.” The people referred to here are disbelievers and idolaters, as indicated by verses in Surah Āl ʿImrān (3:10) and Surah al-Baqarah (2:24).
(عَلَيْهَا مَلَائِكَةٌ)—“Over it are angels.” Their number is mentioned in Surah al-Muddaththir (verse 30), and they are named Zabāniyah in Surah al-ʿAlaq (verse 18).
(لَا يَعْصُونَ اللَّهَ مَا أَمَرَهُمْ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ)—“They do not disobey Allah in what He commands them, and they do what they are commanded.” The first part means they do not reject or resist Allah’s commands. The second means they actively carry out those commands. Another difference: the first phrase refers to past obedience—they have never disobeyed. The second refers to future obedience—they will continue to fulfill every command given.
[7] This verse is also related to the warning of the Hereafter and serves to remove a misconception. If someone were to think, “It is true that no one can escape the angels, but perhaps we can present an excuse to Allah, the Exalted, and He may accept it,” this verse provides the response: such excuses will not be accepted.
