﴾6﴿ Zaalika bi annahoo kaanat ta'teehim Rusuluhum bilbaiyinaati faqaaloo a basharuny yahdoonanaa fakafaroo wa tawallaw; wastaghnal laah; wallaahu ghaniyyun hameed
﴾7﴿ Za'amal lazeena kafarooo al-lany yub'asoo; qul balaa wa rabbee latub'asunna summa latunabba'unna bimaa 'amiltum; wa zaalika 'alal laahi yaseer
﴾8﴿ Fa-aaminoo billaahi wa rasoolihee wannooril lazeee anzalnaa; wallaahu bima ta'maloona khabeer
﴾3﴿ The Creator of the heavens and the earth to manifest the truth, and He shaped you and made your forms good, and to Him is the return
﴾4﴿ He is knowing of what is in the heavens and the earth, and He is knowing of what you conceal and what you reveal, and Allah, the Exalted, is knowing of the words that are in the hearts of people
﴾5﴿ Has the news not come to you of those who disbelieved before you? Then they tasted the penalty of their deeds, and for them is a painful punishment
﴾6﴿ This is because, indeed, their messengers came to them with clear proofs, but they said, "Shall a mere human guide us?" So they denied and turned away, and Allah manifested His self-sufficiency. And Allah is the Self-Sufficient, the Praiseworthy
﴾7﴿ The disbelievers think that they will never be resurrected. Say, Yes, by my Lord, you will surely be resurrected, then you will surely be informed of what you have done. And that is easy for Allah
﴾8﴿ So believe in Allah and His Messenger and in the light that We have sent down, and Allah is All-Aware of your deeds
[3] This is another rational proof, composed of both external (universal) and internal (self-reflective) signs.
(With truth) means with wisdom, or with certainty, or it could mean "for the sake of truth"—that is, for the manifestation of truth, which is the oneness of Allah, the Exalted.
(And perfected your forms)—"perfection" here refers to both inner and outer beauty, whereas "beauty" alone typically refers only to outward appearance. In humans, both inner moral qualities and the proportion and upright form of the body are found in a way not present in any other creation.
[4] This is another reason following the attributes of control; it mentions the attribute of knowledge.
[5] This is a warning concerning both this world and the Hereafter. (نَبَأُ) Naba’ refers to important news or a great event.
[6] This mentions the reason for the punishment, which is the rejection of the messengers on the pretext of their being human. (وَاسْتَغْنَى اللَّهُ) means that Allah declared His independence by destroying them, or it is a circumstantial clause meaning that Allah, the Exalted, is inherently self-sufficient—He has no need of the creation’s faith.
[7] This threat concerns the denial of resurrection after death, which is a cause of punishment and falls under “so they disbelieved and turned away.” This is the fourth verse in the Qur’an in which Allah, the Exalted, swears by His Lordship to affirm the resurrection.
[8] Since in the previous verses the Oneness of Allah, prophethood, resurrection after death, and the truths of the Noble Qur’an have been established, now a conclusion is drawn by calling towards and obligating belief in all of that— (فَآمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ) meaning, believe in the divinity of Allah, the Exalted. (وَرَسُولِهِ) refers to the type of "Messenger," thus belief is required in all messengers in general and in the final Messenger in particular. (وَالنُّورِ) refers to all revelation, especially the Qur’an, because through it one is saved from the darkness of ignorance and misguidance.
