َقَدْ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ 1355 اَلْحَشْر

َ أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ نَافَقُوا يَقُولُونَ لِإِخْوَانِهِمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ لَئِنْ أُخْرِجْتُمْ لَنَخْرُجَنَّ مَعَكُمْ وَلَا نُطِيعُ فِيكُمْ أَحَدًا أَبَدًا وَإِنْ قُوتِلْتُمْ لَنَنْصُرَنَّكُمْ وَاللَّهُ يَشْهَدُ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ ﴿۱۱﴾ لَئِنْ أُخْرِجُوا لَا يَخْرُجُونَ مَعَهُمْ وَلَئِنْ قُوتِلُوا لَا يَنْصُرُونَهُمْ وَلَئِنْ نَصَرُوهُمْ لَيُوَلُّنَّ الْأَدْبَارَ ثُمَّ لَا يُنْصَرُونَ ﴿۱۲﴾

﴾11﴿ Alam tara ilal lazeena naafaqoo yaqooloona li ikhwaanihimul lazeena kafaroo min ahlil kitaabi la'in ukhrijtum lanakhrujanna ma'akum wa laa nutee'u feekum ahadan abadanw-wa in qootiltum lanansuran nakum wallaahu yashhadu innahum lakaaziboon
﴾12﴿ La'in ukhrijoo laa yakhrujoona ma'ahum wa la'in qootiloo laa yansuroonahum wa la'in nasaroohum la yuwallunnal adbaara summa laa yunsaroon

﴾11﴿ Do you not see those who practice hypocrisy, They say to their brothers who have disbelieved among the People of the Book, "If you are expelled, we will surely go out with you, and we will never obey anyone against you. And if you are fought against, we will certainly help you. But Allah bears witness that they are indeed liars
﴾12﴿ If they are expelled, they will not go out with them, and if they are fought against, they will not help them. And even if they were to help them, they would surely turn their backs and flee, and they would not be helped

[11] From this verse to the end of the second section, thirteen disgraceful traits of the hypocrites are mentioned — these are the traits that became evident at the time of Banū Naḍīr’s expulsion.
These are rebukes directed at the hypocrites, and to expose their corruption, two illustrative examples are given.
Then, believers are commanded to have taqwā (God-consciousness), and warned against resembling hypocrites and disbelievers. The distinction between the two is made clear, followed by an encouragement to reflect on the Qur’an to attain fear of Allah. The passage concludes with a reminder of tawḥīd (divine oneness), through the mention of Allah’s names and attributes — which is the ultimate source of reverence and awe.
“Nāfaqū” — implies that these later traits stem from hypocrisy.
“For their brothers” — brotherhood here refers to ideological and emotional bonds.
“Those who disbelieved from among the People of the Book” — refers specifically to Banū Naḍīr.
“They are liars” — their lie stems either from making promises with their tongues while not intending to fulfill them in their hearts, or because they made promises they were incapable of keeping — thus, they were merely speaking falsehood.
[12] In this verse, their falsehood is confirmed, and four states or conditions of the hypocrites are mentioned.
