إِلَيْهِ يُرَدَُّ 1208 الدخان
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَاعِبِينَ ﴿۳۸﴾ مَا خَلَقْنَاهُمَا إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿۳۹﴾ إِنَّ يَوْمَ الْفَصْلِ مِيقَاتُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ﴿۴۰﴾ يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِي مَوْلًى عَنْ مَوْلًى شَيْئًا وَلَا هُمْ يُنْصَرُونَ ﴿۴۱﴾ إِلَّا مَنْ رَحِمَ اللَّهُ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ ﴿۴۲﴾
﴾38﴿ Wa maa khalaqnas samaawaati wal arda wa maa baina humaa laa'ibeen
﴾39﴿ Maa khalaqnaahumaaa illaa bilhaqqi wa laakinna aksarahum laa ya'lamoon
﴾40﴿ Inna yawmal fasli meeqaatuhum ajma'een
﴾41﴿ Yawma laa yughnee mawlan 'am mawlan shai'anw wa laa hum yunsaroon
﴾42﴿ Illaa mar rahimal laah' innahoo huwal 'azeezur raheem
﴾38﴿ And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in play
﴾39﴿ We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know
﴾40﴿ Indeed, the Day of Judgment is the appointed time for all of them
﴾41﴿ The day when no friend will avail a friend in any way, nor will they be helped
﴾42﴿ Except for those whom Allah has mercy upon. Indeed, Allah is the Mighty, the Merciful
[38,39] This is also a refutation of the denial of resurrection after death through reasoning. That is, if it were the case that people oppress one another, associate partners with Allah the Exalted, show ingratitude for His blessings, and yet there were no specific day for their punishment—similarly, if there are reformers and corruptors, and there is no day, Paradise, or Hell to distinguish and reward or punish them—then it would become evident that Allah the Exalted created the upper, lower, and middle parts of the world in vain. But Allah the Exalted is far above doing anything in vain or in play. Therefore, in the second verse, He has stated the conclusion: that this world was created for the sake of truth.
[40] From this verse to the end of the surah is the second section. In this section, there is a detailed warning about the Hereafter, consisting of thirteen matters, and also a detailed glad tiding regarding the Hereafter, which also consists of thirteen matters. The conclusion of the surah is with encouragement toward the Qur’an and a worldly warning. In this verse (40), the Day of Judgment is referred to as Yawm al-Faṣl (the Day of Separation)—meaning that it brings separation between the believer and the disbeliever. This indicates that in worldly punishment, sometimes believers and disbelievers are affected together, but on the Day of Judgment, they will be completely separated.
[41,42] In the first verse, the awe of the Day of Separation is described in two ways: that a friend will be of no benefit to a friend, and that they will receive no help from Allah the Exalted. In the second verse, there is an exception—“except those upon whom Allah has mercy”—referring to the believers, who will be able to intercede for one another by the permission of Allah the Exalted. And Allah Himself will also assist some directly, even without the intercession of the intercessors.
