﴾43﴿ And we set forth these examples for the people, and none understand them except those who have knowledge
﴾44﴿ Allah has created the heavens and the earth to manifest the truth; indeed, in this is a sign for the believers
[43] This verse refers to the benefit of parables and refutes those who are unaware of their value and thus deny them—meaning they are ignorant.
This verse indicates that, in the sight of Allah the Exalted, a knowledgeable person is the one who reflects on the parables in the Noble Qur’an and understands them.
(ya'qiluhā) — “He understands them” — refers to the knowledge of parables: to recognize the point of similarity between both sides (the subject and the comparison) and to understand the wisdom behind the parable.
[44] This is also a proof against polytheism, and it mentions the fourth attribute of Allah the Exalted—meaning that whoever does not understand the parables should reflect on the signs in the heavens and the earth and come to believe.
