أَمَّنْ خَلَقََْ 957 القصص

وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ وَيْلَكُمْ ثَوَابُ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لِمَنْ آمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا وَلَا يُلَقَّاهَا إِلَّا الصَّابِرُونَ ﴿۸۰﴾ فَخَسَفْنَا بِهِ وَبِدَارِهِ الْأَرْضَ فَمَا كَانَ لَهُ مِنْ فِئَةٍ يَنْصُرُونَهُ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُنْتَصِرِينَ ﴿۸۱﴾ وَأَصْبَحَ الَّذِينَ تَمَنَّوْا مَكَانَهُ بِالْأَمْسِ يَقُولُونَ وَيْكَأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَيَقْدِرُ لَوْلَا أَنْ مَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا لَخَسَفَ بِنَا وَيْكَأَنَّهُ لَا يُفْلِحُ الْكَافِرُونَ ﴿۸۲﴾

﴾80﴿ Wa qaalal lazeena ootul 'ilma wailakum sawaabul laahi khairul liman aamana wa 'amila saalihaa; wa laa yulaq qaahaaa illas saabiroon
﴾81﴿ Fakhasafnaa bihee wa bidaarihil arda famaa kaana lahoo min fi'atiny yansuroo nahoo min doonil laahi wa maa kaana minal muntasireen
﴾82﴿ Wa asbahal lazeena tamannaw makaanahoo bil amsi yaqooloona waika annal laaha yabsutur rizqa limany ya shaaa'u min 'ibaadihee wa yaqdiru law laaa am mannal laahu 'alainaa lakhasafa binaa waika annahoo laa yuflihul kaafiroon

﴾80﴿ And those who had been given knowledge said, Woe to you! The reward of Allah is better for those who believe and do righteous deeds according to the tradition, and this quality is not granted except to those who are patient
﴾81﴿ Then We caused the earth to swallow him and his home (the treasures). There was no group to aid him other than Allah, nor was he of those who could defend themselves
﴾82﴿ And those who had wished for his position the day before began to say, How strange that Allah extends provision to whom He wills of His servants and restricts it. If Allah had not been gracious to us, He would have swallowed us too. How strange! Indeed, the disbelievers do not attain salvation

[80] This is a piece of advice for the ignorant ones, highlighting the worthlessness of worldly life in comparison to the Hereafter.
"الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ" – shows that in the sight of Allah, the true scholars are those who place no value on wealth and worldly status.
"وَيْلَكُمْ" – is used here as an expression of amazement and warning, meaning: don’t be so sure about the following worldly illusion, otherwise you will be destroyed.
"ثَوَابُ اللَّهِ" – refers to the blessings of both this world and the Hereafter, which are attained through faith and righteous deeds.
"وَلَا يُلَقَّاهَا" – the pronoun refers back to this advice and noble trait, as mentioned earlier—i.e., renouncing the world and longing for the Hereafter.
[81] The open display of Qarun’s rebellion and arrogance led to his punishment. He considered himself superior, so Allah humbled him by causing the earth to swallow him.
According to an authentic hadith, he was a man who walked the earth with arrogance (and dragged his garment out of pride), so he was swallowed by the earth and will continue to sink until the Day of Judgment.
"وَبِدَارِهِ" – refers to his entire estate and treasure houses.
"فَمَا كَانَ لَهُ مِنْ فِئَةٍ" – Fi’ah refers to those groups or people whom a person turns to for help in times of need. Qarun had no one—neither those whom he considered partners with Allah, nor his servants and armies—none of them could help him.
"وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُنْتَصِرِينَ" – meaning, he had no strength or power to defend himself. This is in direct contrast to his wealth, pride, and his claim “عَلَى عِلْمٍ عِندِي” (based on knowledge I have).
Note: This verse serves as a warning to the Quraysh and the family of the Prophet (peace be upon him): even though they are the Prophet’s people and relatives, if they rebel against his religion, they will be destroyed just like Qarun—who was close to Musa (peace be upon him) in lineage but still perished due to his arrogance.
Likewise, the saints and great figures whom people wrongly assume to be helpers, will not be able to help in the face of Allah’s punishment.
[82] This too is a sign of good fortune—that a person takes a lesson from the downfall of an evildoer and considers it a blessing from Allah that He protected them from such a fate.
"وَيْكَأَنَّ اللَّهَ" – means: they realized that the expansion and restriction of provision is according to Allah’s will and decree, and not a sign of honor or status.
"وَيْ" is a word of amazement, and "كأنَّ" acts like a lām of explanation—so it carries the sense of: “I am amazed that…”
According to a narration from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them), "وَيْكَأَنَّهُ" means "Did you not see?" (أَلَمْ تَرَ).
"مَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا" – refers to Allah granting them the success of faith and following Musa (peace be upon him), similar to what is mentioned in Surah Al-Hujurat (49:17).
"وَيْكَأَنَّهُ لَا يُفْلِحُ الْكَافِرُونَ" – this statement may be from the people themselves, or it may be a statement from Allah affirming that disbelievers will never succeed.
