وَقَالَ الَّذِينَْ 895 الشعراء
قَالُوا لَئِنْ لَمْ تَنْتَهِ يَا نُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمَرْجُومِينَ ﴿۱۱۶﴾ قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِي كَذَّبُونِ ﴿۱۱۷﴾ فَافْتَحْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًا وَنَجِّنِي وَمَنْ مَعِيَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿۱۱۸﴾ فَأَنْجَيْنَاهُ وَمَنْ مَعَهُ فِي الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُونِ ﴿۱۱۹﴾ ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ الْبَاقِينَ ﴿۱۲۰﴾ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿۱۲۱﴾ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ ﴿۱۲۲﴾ كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ الْمُرْسَلِينَ ﴿۱۲۳﴾ إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ﴿۱۲۴﴾ إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ﴿۱۲۵﴾ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ﴿۱۲۶﴾ وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ﴿۱۲۷﴾
﴾116﴿ Qaaloo la'il lam tantahi yaa Noohu latakoonanna minal marjoomeen
﴾117﴿ Qaala Rabbi inna qawmee kazzaboon
﴾118﴿ Faftab bainee wa bai nahum fat hanw wa najjinee wa mam ma'iya minal mu'mineen
﴾119﴿ Fa anjainaahu wa mamma'ahoo fil fulkil mashhoon
﴾120﴿ Summa aghraqnaa ba'dul baaqeen
﴾121﴿ Inna fee zaalika la Aayaah; wa maa kaana aksaruhum mu'mineen
﴾122﴿ Wa inna Rabbaka la huwal 'Azeezur Raheem
﴾123﴿ Kazzabat 'Aadunil mursaleen
﴾124﴿ Iz qaala lahum akhoohum Hoodun alaa tattaqoon
﴾125﴿ Innee lakum Rasoolun ameen
﴾126﴿ Fattaqullaaha wa atee'oon
﴾127﴿ Wa maa as'alukum 'alaihi min ajrin in ajriya illaa 'alaa Rabbil 'aalameen
﴾116﴿ They said, 'If you do not desist, O Noah, you will surely be among those stoned
﴾117﴿ He said, O my Lord, indeed my people have denied me
﴾118﴿ So judge between me and them with decisive judgment, and save me and those who are with me of the believers
﴾119﴿ So We saved him and those with him in the fully loaded ship
﴾120﴿ Then We drowned the remainder after that
﴾121﴿ Indeed, in this there is surely a lesson, but most of them are not believers
﴾122﴿ And indeed, your Lord, He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful
﴾123﴿ The 'Aad (people) denied the messengers
﴾124﴿ uWhen their brother Hud said to them, Will you not save yourselves from the punishment
﴾125﴿ Indeed, I am a trustworthy messenger to you
﴾126﴿ So fear Allah, the Most High, and obey me
﴾127﴿ And I do not ask you for any reward for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds
[116] The people had no proof or argument, so they began with pressure and force instead.
This is the case with all followers of falsehood — and this marks the second stage of denial.
[117] In response to the opposition of the people, the Prophet began to show humility before Allah the Exalted.
This is the Prophet’s testimony to the denial of his people — meaning they have not accepted faith up to this point, nor have they repented from their denial.
Therefore, they are deserving of punishment.
[118] This supplication is a prayer for harm upon the people, because he had lost hope in their belief due to the revelation from Allah the Exalted — as mentioned earlier in Surah Hud.
It is also a prayer for the salvation of the people of faith.
Fath (opening) here means a clear and decisive judgment, and what is meant by it is the punishment upon this people.
[119] This is the acceptance of the second supplication.
(الْفُلْكِ) here is a singular masculine noun, and for this reason, its adjective is also in the masculine form.
[120] This is the acceptance of the first supplication.
(الْبَاقِينَ) is mentioned because, besides them, no other humans remained in the world — only they were left after the salvation of the believers.
[121,122] This is another example of punishment upon the denying enemies and the salvation of the believers.
[from 123 to 127] This is the fourth incident, in which the people of ‘Ād denied the truth, so punishment descended upon them.
