قَدْ أَفْلَحَْ 831 المؤمنون
قَالُوا أَإِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَإِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ ﴿۸۲﴾ لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا نَحْنُ وَآبَاؤُنَا هَذَا مِنْ قَبْلُ إِنْ هَذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿۸۳﴾ قُلْ لِمَنِ الْأَرْضُ وَمَنْ فِيهَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿۸۴﴾ سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ ﴿۸۵﴾ قُلْ مَنْ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَرَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ ﴿۸۶﴾ سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ﴿۸۷﴾ قُلْ مَنْ بِيَدِهِ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَهُوَ يُجِيرُ وَلَا يُجَارُ عَلَيْهِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿۸۸﴾ سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ قُلْ فَأَنَّى تُسْحَرُونَ ﴿۸۹﴾ بَلْ أَتَيْنَاهُمْ بِالْحَقِّ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ ﴿۹۰﴾
﴾82﴿ Qaalooo 'a-izaa mitnaa wa kunnaa turaabanw wa 'izaaman 'a-innaa lamab 'oosoon
﴾83﴿ Laqad wu'idnaa nahnu wa aabaaa'unaa haazaa min qablu in haazaaa illaaa asaateerul awwaleen
﴾84﴿ Qul limanil ardu wa man feehaaa in kuntum ta'lamoon
﴾85﴿ Sa-yaqooloona lillaah; qul afalaa tazakkkaroon
﴾86﴿ Qul mar Rabbus samaawaatis sab'i wa Rabbul 'Arshil 'Azeem
﴾87﴿ Sa yaqooloona lillaah; qul afalaa tattaqoon
﴾88﴿ Qul mam bi yadihee malakootu kulli shai'inw wa Huwa yujeeru wa laa yujaaru 'alaihi in kuntum ta'lamoon
﴾89﴿ Sa yaqooloona lillaah; qul fa annaa tus haroon
﴾90﴿ Bal atainaahum bil haqqi wa innahum lakaaziboon
﴾82﴿ They say, When we die and become dust and bones, will we really be resurrected
﴾83﴿ Surely, this promise was made to us and to our forefathers before. This is nothing but tales of the ancients
﴾84﴿ Say, To whom does the earth and all that is within it belong, if you know
﴾85﴿ They will surely say, To Allah belongs [the authority]." Say, "Then why do you not take heed
﴾86﴿ Say, Who is the Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of the Great Throne
﴾87﴿ They will surely say, To Allah belongs [the authority]." Say, "Then why do you not guard yourselves against shirk (associating partners with Him)
﴾88﴿ Say, In whose hand is the dominion of all things, and He protects while none can protect against Him, if you know
﴾89﴿ They will surely say, To Allah belongs [the authority]." Say, "Then how are you deluded [away from the truth]
﴾90﴿ Rather, We have brought them the truth, but indeed, they are surely liars
[from 84 to 89] In these verses, the arguments are rational and based on acknowledgment—that is, the acknowledgment of the polytheists is mentioned, and through it, both Tawhid (Oneness of Allah) and resurrection after death are established. The order is beautifully arranged: first, the question is about the earth and its inhabitants, then about the seven heavens above, and then even higher, the Throne (Arsh) is mentioned.
After that, a general attribute is mentioned that encompasses all of these—namely, kingship and authority—showing that Allah the Exalted has complete control and dominion over all.
Note: In the first instance, reminder (tadhkīr) is mentioned because the earth is near, and thus it is more likely to bring about effective reflection. With the heavens and the Throne, taqwā (God-consciousness) is mentioned, because they point to His greatness and awe, which aligns well with taqwā.
In the third part, (تُسْحَرُونَ) is mentioned along with astonishment—meaning, a person acknowledges Allah's sovereignty, His power to protect from harm, and the incapacity of all creation to resist Him, yet still associates others with Him. Such a person's mind is corrupted—he is as if mad.
Note: Since Rabb (in the second argument) implies the One who manages and controls, the intended meaning is: Who controls the heavens and the Throne? And for that reason, the answer includes "lillāh"—to Allah belongs it all.
[90] This is torment, meaning in the Qur'an, the mention of monotheism and the proof of resurrection after death is the truth. But those who claim that Allah has a child or a partner and deny the resurrection—this is a lie.
