اقْتَرَبَ ْ 798 الحج
يُصْهَرُ بِهِ مَا فِي بُطُونِهِمْ وَالْجُلُودُ ﴿۲۰﴾ وَلَهُمْ مَقَامِعُ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ ﴿۲۱﴾ كُلَّمَا أَرَادُوا أَنْ يَخْرُجُوا مِنْهَا مِنْ غَمٍّ أُعِيدُوا فِيهَا وَذُوقُوا عَذَابَ الْحَرِيقِ ﴿۲۲﴾ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُدْخِلُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ يُحَلَّوْنَ فِيهَا مِنْ أَسَاوِرَ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَلُؤْلُؤًا وَلِبَاسُهُمْ فِيهَا حَرِيرٌ ﴿۲۳﴾
﴾20﴿ Yusharu bihee maa fee butoonihim waljulood
﴾21﴿ Wa lahum maqaami'u min hadeed
﴾22﴿ Kullamaa araadooo any yakhrujoo minhaa min ghammin u'eedoo feeha wa zooqoo 'azaabal hareeq
﴾23﴿ Innal laaha yudkhilul lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati jannaatin tajree min tahtihal anhaaru yuhallawna feehaa min asaawira min zahabinw wa lu'lu'aa; wa libaasuhum feehaa hareer
﴾20﴿ With it, whatever is in their bellies will be melted, as well as their skins
﴾21﴿ And for striking them are maces of iron
﴾22﴿ Whenever they seek to escape from Hell out of anguish, they will be returned to it, and it will be said to them, Taste the torment of the burning fire
﴾23﴿ Indeed, Allah will admit those who believe and do righteous deeds into gardens beneath which rivers flow. They will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and pearls, and their garments therein will be of silk
[20] The interpretation of this is found in a hadith in Tirmidhi, where the Messenger of Allah (May Allah bless him and give him peace) said: Boiling water will be poured over their heads, reaching into their stomachs and coming out from beneath their stomachs down to their feet—that is what is meant by “صَهر” (molten liquid).
Then their bodies will be restored again.
As for “وَالْجُلُودُ” (and the skins), the appropriate verb is omitted but implied—such as burning or roasting—meaning their skins will be scorched and cooked.
[21,22] “مَقَامِعُ” is derived from “قَمْع”, which means to strike in a way that humiliates. That is, they will be struck in a humiliating manner.
They will not be able to escape, and even if they merely intend to flee, they will be struck with these iron clubs.
A similar description is found in Surah As-Sajdah (32:20).
[23] Previously, one group (the opponent) was mentioned with a warning about the Hereafter. Now in this verse, the other group is mentioned with glad tidings of the Hereafter.
In the warning, punishment, shame, and humiliation were described. But in this glad tidings, great honor and dignity are mentioned.
The word “أَسَاوِرَ” (bracelets) refers specifically to what is worn on the hands, while “وَلُؤْلُؤًا” (and pearls) refers to adornment on the entire body, since pearls are mentioned separately. A similar expression appears in Surah Fāṭir (35:33), and in Surah Ad-Dahr (76:21), where “فِضَّةً” (silver) is mentioned.
This indicates the types of bracelets—some made of gold and some of silver. In Surah Ad-Dahr, the vessels of Paradise are described as being made of silver, so the bracelets are also mentioned as silver.
But in this Surah, due to the emphasis on immense honor and respect, gold is specifically mentioned.
