سُبْحَانَ الذِيٍ 647 بنی اسرائیل
فَإِذَا جَاءَ وَعْدُ أُولَاهُمَا بَعَثْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ عِبَادًا لَنَا أُولِي بَأْسٍ شَدِيدٍ فَجَاسُوا خِلَالَ الدِّيَارِ وَكَانَ وَعْدًا مَفْعُولًا ﴿۵﴾ ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَا لَكُمُ الْكَرَّةَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَأَمْدَدْنَاكُمْ بِأَمْوَالٍ وَبَنِينَ وَجَعَلْنَاكُمْ أَكْثَرَ نَفِيرًا ﴿۶﴾
﴾5﴿ Fa-izaa jaaa'a wa'duoolaahumaa ba'asnaaa 'alykum 'ibaadal-lanaaa ulee baasin shadeedin fajaasoo khilaalad diyaar; wa kaana wa'dam maf'oolaa
﴾6﴿ Summa radadnaa lakumul karrata 'alaihim wa amdad-naakum-bi amwaalinuw wa baneen; wa ja'alnaakum aksara nafeeraa
﴾5﴿ So when the time of the first corruption came, We sent against you Our servants of great might in battle, and they entered the innermost parts of your homes, and it was a promise fulfilled
﴾6﴿ Then We gave you back your power over them and strengthened you with wealth and children and made you a larger group
[5] In this verse, the meaning of “ʿibādan lanā” (servants of Ours) refers to Jalut and his companions.
And his story has already been mentioned in Surah Al-Baqarah.
“Fa jāsoo” refers to invading homes, disgracing the people, and driving them out.
In the phrase “lanā,” the letter “lām” indicates possession, meaning that even though these servants were oppressors, they too were under the control and authority of Allah the Exalted.
[6] This refers to the incident mentioned in Surah Al-Baqarah, where Dawud (peace be upon him) killed Jalut, and Allah the Exalted granted victory to Bani Isra'il.
Their numbers increased as a result of their return to Tawhid and obedience.
