رُبَمَاٍ 613 اَلنَّحْل

لِيَحْمِلُوا أَوْزَارَهُمْ كَامِلَةً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَمِنْ أَوْزَارِ الَّذِينَ يُضِلُّونَهُمْ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ أَلَا سَاءَ مَا يَزِرُونَ ﴿۲۵﴾ قَدْ مَكَرَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ فَأَتَى اللَّهُ بُنْيَانَهُمْ مِنَ الْقَوَاعِدِ فَخَرَّ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّقْفُ مِنْ فَوْقِهِمْ وَأَتَاهُمُ الْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ ﴿۲۶﴾ ثُمَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُخْزِيهِمْ وَيَقُولُ أَيْنَ شُرَكَائِيَ الَّذِينَ كُنْتُمْ تُشَاقُّونَ فِيهِمْ قَالَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ إِنَّ الْخِزْيَ الْيَوْمَ وَالسُّوءَ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ ﴿۲۷﴾

﴾25﴿ Liyahmilooo awzaarahum kaamilatany Yawmal Qiyaamati wa min awzaaril lazeena yudilloonahum bighairi 'ilm; alaa saaa'a maa yaziroon
﴾26﴿ Qad makaral lazeena min qablihim fa atal laahu bunyaa nahum minal qawaa'idi fakharra 'alaihimus saqfu min fawqihim wa ataahumul 'azaabu min haisu laa yash'uroon
﴾27﴿ Summa Yawmal Qiyaamati yukhzeehim wa yaqoolu aina shurakaaa'iyal lazeena kuntum tushaaaqqoona feehim; qaalal lazeena ootul 'ilma innal khizyal Yawma wassooo'a 'alal kaafireen

﴾25﴿ So that they may bear their own burdens in full on the Day of Resurrection, along with some of the burdens of those they mislead without knowledge. Behold, evil is what they bear
﴾26﴿ Indeed, those before them also plotted (against the truth), but Allah brought their structure down from its foundation, and the roof fell upon them from above, and the punishment came upon them from where they did not expect
﴾27﴿ Then, on the Day of Resurrection, Allah will disgrace them and say, 'Where are My partners for whom you used to dispute?' Those endowed with knowledge will say, 'Indeed, disgrace and evil this day are upon the disbelievers

[25] In this verse, there is a warning. The summary is: when they denied the Qur’an, their followers also imitated them and were thus led astray. Therefore, they themselves are misguided and also misguiding others. Because of this, on the Day of Judgment, they will bear their sins twice—as mentioned in verse 13 of Surah Al-‘Ankabūt. The word “kāmilah” (complete) is mentioned to indicate that the sins of the disbelievers will not be pardoned at all.
[26] In this verse, there is a worldly warning through examples of previous communities. This verse may be taken literally and pertain to Nimrod and his people or Thamud and the people of Lot. Alternatively, this verse is general and uses metaphor and allegory, like someone who has built a structure with a solid foundation, but suddenly the roof collapses on them. Similarly, the polytheists and disbelievers had built solid plans to annihilate the truth, but Allah the Exalted destroyed their schemes and annihilated them.
[27] In this verse, there is an otherworldly warning. To humiliate them on the Day of Resurrection, they will be asked: "Where are those deities of yours about whom you used to dispute with the monotheists? Now call upon them for help!" Then they will fall silent, and the monotheists will rejoice at their disgrace and punishment.
Benefit: It is mentioned in verse (32) of Surah Al-An'am, as well as in verse (47) of Surah Fussilat and verse (74) of Surah Ghafir, that they will deny (their gods). But in this Surah, it is made clear that they will be silent. This appears to be a contradiction.
The answer is: The Day of Resurrection consists of different moments. At certain times, they will be silent; at other times, they will deny; and at yet other times, they will confess.
(أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ) — refers to the monotheists.
(الْخِزْيَ) — refers to the shame of their flaws being exposed.
(وَالسُّوءَ) — refers to the punishments.
