لَا تَعْتَذِرُوا قَدْ كَفَرْتُمْ بَعْدَ إِيمَانِكُمْ إِنْ نَعْفُ عَنْ طَائِفَةٍ مِنْكُمْ نُعَذِّبْ طَائِفَةً بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا مُجْرِمِينَ ﴿۶۶﴾ الْمُنَافِقُونَ وَالْمُنَافِقَاتُ بَعْضُهُمْ مِنْ بَعْضٍ يَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمُنْكَرِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَقْبِضُونَ أَيْدِيَهُمْ نَسُوا اللَّهَ فَنَسِيَهُمْ إِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ هُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ ﴿۶۷﴾ وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الْمُنَافِقِينَ وَالْمُنَافِقَاتِ وَالْكُفَّارَ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا هِيَ حَسْبُهُمْ وَلَعَنَهُمُ اللَّهُ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُقِيمٌ ﴿۶۸﴾

﴾66﴿ Laa ta'taziroo qad kafartum ba'da eemaanikum; in na'fu 'an taaa'ifatin minkum nu'az zib taaa'ifatan bi annahum kaanoo mujrimeen
﴾67﴿ Almunaafiqoona wal munaafiqaatu ba'duhum mim ba'd; yaamuroona bilmunkari wa yanhawna 'anil ma'roofi wa yaqbidoona aidiyahum; nasul laaha fanasiyahum; innal munaafiqeena humul faasiqoon
﴾68﴿ Wa'adal laahul munafiqeena wal munaafiqaati wal kuffaara naara jahannnamma khaalideena feehaa; hiya hasbuhum; wa la'annahumul laahu wa lahum 'azaabum muqeem

﴾66﴿ Don't apologize, you have revealed disbelief after revealing your faith If We forgive some of you (May you have success in repentance), We will punish others because they are criminals
﴾67﴿ Hypocrites, men and women, some of them are with others. They enjoin what is wrong and forbid what is right and tie their hands They forgot Allah, the Exalted, so Allah, the Exalted, forsook them (and deprived them of good). Indeed, they are the hypocrites, the great transgressors
﴾68﴿ Allah Almighty has promised the hypocrite men and the hypocrite women and the disbelievers the Fire of Hell, wherein they will abide forever Sufficient is the punishment for them, and Allah, the Exalted, has cursed them, and for them is the everlasting punishment

[66] This verse is also a warning to the hypocrites, and it mentions two of their disgraceful traits.
This verse is evidence for the ruling that anyone who mocks Allah the Exalted, His Messenger (May Allah bless him and give him peace), or the Qur’an, or treats them with contempt, is a disbeliever (kafir) and an apostate (murtad).
(إِنْ نَعْفُ) – means that Allah granted some of the hypocrites the ability to repent and forgave them.
This implies that the repentance of an apostate is also accepted.
(مُجْرِمِينَ) – refers to those who persist in sin and do not repent.
[67] This verse is a warning to the hypocrites and mentions four of their disgraceful traits.
(بَعْضُهُمْ مِنْ بَعْضٍ) – means that they are alike in abandoning the religion and in the previously mentioned traits.
It also indicates that both men and women are equal in this ruling.
The word "مِن" here is used to express resemblance and shared actions.
(وَيَقْبِضُونَ أَيْدِيَهُمْ) – refers to their withholding from jihad, spending in the way of Allah, and neglecting other obligatory duties.
(نَسُوا اللَّهَ) – means they deliberately neglected Allah to the extent that it was as if they had forgotten Him.
In essence, they abandoned the remembrance and obedience of Allah the Exalted.
[68] In this verse, there are five ways in which a warning of the Hereafter is given to the hypocrites.
(وَعَدَ) – is most commonly used for promises of good, but here it is used in the context of punishment.
Since it is followed by the mention of the fire of Hell, the meaning here is actually a threat (waʿīd), not a promise of reward.
