وَلَوْ أَنَّنَا 298 الأنعام

وَلِتَصْغَى إِلَيْهِ أَفْئِدَةُ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ وَلِيَرْضَوْهُ وَلِيَقْتَرِفُوا مَا هُمْ مُقْتَرِفُونَ ﴿۱۱۳﴾ أَفَغَيْرَ اللَّهِ أَبْتَغِي حَكَمًا وَهُوَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ إِلَيْكُمُ الْكِتَابَ مُفَصَّلًا وَالَّذِينَ آتَيْنَاهُمُ الْكِتَابَ يَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ مُنَزَّلٌ مِنْ رَبِّكَ بِالْحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُمْتَرِينَ ﴿۱۱۴﴾

﴾113﴿ Wa litasghaaa ilaihi af'idatul lazeena laa yu'minoona bil Aakhirati wa liyardawhu wa liyaqtarifoo maa hum muqtarifoon
﴾114﴿ Afaghairal laahi abtaghee hakamanw wa Huwal lazee anzala ilaikumul Kitaaba mufassalaa; wallazeena atai naahumul Kitaaba ya'lamoona annahoo munazzalum mir Rabbika bilhaqqi falaa takoonanna minal mumtareen

﴾113﴿ And so that the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter are inclined towards this (lie) And until they like this (the lie) and until they do what they always do
﴾114﴿ Should I ask for someone else besides Allah Almighty to decide And Allah, the Most High, is the one who sent down the book for you in detail a nd those whom We gave them the Book They know that this Quran was revealed by your Lord for the truth So don't be one of the doubters

[113] This is a continuation (conjunctive) linked to غرورًا (as part of the objective), and it conveys the purpose of these devilish whispers in three stages:
(وَلِتَصْغَى) – Iṣghā’ means to incline with strong interest or attraction.
(الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ) – Those who do not believe in the Hereafter. True belief in the Hereafter is what truly prevents people from following falsehood.
The core message is this: an ignorant person is first deceived by zukhruf al-qawl (embellished speech), then he listens to it and starts to incline toward it, then he begins to enjoy it, and finally, he persists in those false actions.
(مُقْتَرِفُونَ) – This refers to those who commit acts of shirk (polytheism) and innovations (bid‘ah).
[114] The message of the verse is that during debates and discussions, the final judgment must come from Allah the Exalted—meaning, His Book (the Qur’an) and the righteous scholars who confirm and support it.
At the beginning of the verse, the word "Qul" (Say) is implied. The question is rhetorical and for rejection (istifhām inkārī): in matters of dispute and resolution, no judge other than Allah the Exalted is acceptable. A similar statement is found in verse 10 of Surah Ash-Shura.
(وَهُوَ الَّذِي) – This expresses the wisdom of Allah the Exalted, meaning that the Qur’an is the ultimate judge (ḥakam). In the Tafsir of Sam‘ānī, it is mentioned that the polytheists asked the Prophet (May Allah bless him and give him peace), “Appoint a judge between us and you.” The response came with (أَفَغَيْرَ اللَّهِ) – “Shall I seek a judge other than Allah?”
(مُفَصَّلًا) – “Detailed,” referring to the comprehensive explanation of beliefs and matters of faith found in the Qur’an.
(وَالَّذِينَ آتَيْنَاهُمُ) – Refers to the righteous among the People of the Book. Their testimony is used to reinforce the divine authority of Allah the Exalted’s judgment. Similar points appear in verse 20 of this Surah and verse 27 of Surah Al-Kahf.
(فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُمْتَرِينَ) – The address is to the Prophet, but the real intent is directed at the Ummah, encouraging them not to fall into doubt.
