002_124 surah 2: Al Baqarah
سَيَقُولُ 55 اَلٌبَقَرَة

الَّذِينَ آتَيْنَاهُمُ الْكِتَابَ يَعْرِفُونَهُ كَمَا يَعْرِفُونَ أَبْنَاءَهُمْ وَإِنَّ فَرِيقًا مِنْهُمْ لَيَكْتُمُونَ الْحَقَّ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿۱۴۶﴾ الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُمْتَرِينَ ﴿۱۴۷﴾ وَلِكُلٍّ وِجْهَةٌ هُوَ مُوَلِّيهَا فَاسْتَبِقُوا الْخَيْرَاتِ أَيْنَ مَا تَكُونُوا يَأْتِ بِكُمُ اللَّهُ جَمِيعًا إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ﴿۱۴۸﴾

﴾146﴿ Allazeena aatainaahumul kitaaba ya'rifoonahoo kamaa ya'rifoona abnaaa'ahum wa inna fareeqam minhum layaktumoonal haqqa wa hum ya'lamoon
﴾147﴿ Alhaqqu mir Rabbika falaa takoonana minal mumtareen
﴾148﴿ Wa likullinw wijhatun huwa muwalleehaa fastabiqul khairaat; ayna maa takoonoo yaati bikumullaahu jamee'aa; innal laaha 'alaa kulli shai'in qadeer

﴾146﴿ Those to whom We gave the Book recognize the truth of the Messenger (and the qiblah) just as they recognize their own sons. Yet surely, a group among them knowingly conceal the truth.
﴾147﴿ It is the truth from your Lord, so do not be among those who doubt.
﴾148﴿ And for everyone there is a direction toward which he turns, so compete with one another in good deeds. Wherever you may be, Allah will bring you all together. Surely, Allah is Powerful over all things.

[146] In this verse, two types of the People of the Book are mentioned: first, the righteous ones who accept the truth; second, those who conceal the truth.
(They recognize him) — The pronoun refers either to the Messenger or to the change of the qiblah.
(The truth) — This refers either to the change of the qiblah or to the description of the Prophet (May Allah bless him and give him peace) that was mentioned in the Torah.
[147] This is an emphasis of what came before and an encouragement regarding the change of the qiblah. Before "the truth" (الْحَقَّ), the predicate is implied and refers back to the previous statement, or "the truth" is the subject and "from your Lord" is a descriptive phrase.
(Among those who doubt) — This is derived either from miryah, meaning doubt, or from miraa’, meaning argumentative dispute.
[148] Every person has a direction to which they turn — some turn to Allah, some to graves, some to idols, some to living saints, some to the dead, some to trees, some to stones. Some love mosques, others markets, temples, churches, and so on. But for us, the command is to strive in those deeds that are in accordance with the command of Allah and the Messenger of Allah (May Allah bless him and give him peace). These are called good deeds, and the Ka‘bah is included in them.
According to this meaning, (li-kullin) refers to every individual and group. Or, if by “direction” (وجهه) we mean the qiblah, then li-kullin refers to all communities.
(Allah will bring you all together) — This means that wherever you are in the world, pray facing the Ka‘bah, and Allah will unify your prayers. Or, it may mean that Allah will gather you all on the Day of Judgment.
